Project Specification Manager Location: South London & Central territory Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Industry: Construction / Building Materials Salary: Upto £60k, OTE £80k, Car Allowance/EV Scheme + Benefits About the Role: We’re seeking a strategic and consultative Project Specification Manager to drive exceptional business performance by securing and managing large-scale, long-term, end-to-end projects. This is a pivotal role that blends strategic insight, relationship management, and technical understanding to deliver significant, sustainable growth. You’ll work directly with key specifiers and building owners, adopting a consultative approach to cultivate strong relationships and build a robust project pipeline. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Project Acquisition • Consultative Engagement: Build strong, trust-based relationships with building owners and key specifiers to understand their long-term needs, challenges, and objectives., • Proactive Pipeline Development: Conduct a minimum of 12 high-value client visits per week to identify and nurture large, long-term project opportunities., • Full Solution Specification: Lead specification-driven sales by securing inclusion of comprehensive, end-to-end solutions that meet project requirements and deliver maximum client value., • Quality & Guarantee Oversight: Ensure project integrity through effective specification management, site visits, and quality assurance across the project lifecycle. What We’re Looking For: Strategic & Commercial Acumen • Understanding of construction project lifecycles from design to delivery., • Ability to contribute to strategic project planning and execution., • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project value chains., • Confidence in identifying risks and supporting profitable, successful project outcomes. Consultative & Relationship Management • Proven consultative selling skills and the ability to influence multiple stakeholders., • Strong relationship-building and communication capabilities., • Collaborative mindset – able to work closely with technical, operations, and product teams. Project & Technical Expertise • Experience managing or supporting technical specifications for complex, performance-driven projects., • Solid technical understanding of construction systems and materials., • Awareness of contractual terms and project agreements., • Knowledge of site safety and best practice during site visits. Personal Attributes • Solution-focused and proactive, with strong initiative and self-motivation., • Excellent communicator – both verbal and written., • Adaptable, organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Experience & Requirements: • Experience in a project-based sales, technical sales, or specification support role within construction, building materials, or a related industry., • Strong experience engaging with building owners, developers, architects, or engineering consultants., • Exposure to solution selling and securing multi-faceted technical solutions., • Proficiency with CRM systems for managing project pipelines and reporting., • Full UK driving licence (essential).
