You don’t see the world like everyone else — and that’s the point. This is a graduate opportunity for engineers who want to design infrastructure that actually works for people, communities, and the planet. You’ll join a global, design-led engineering consultancy working at the cutting edge of transport, water, energy and climate-resilient infrastructure. Each year, hundreds of graduates join the business to help tackle some of the most complex challenges facing the built environment — from flood resilience and low-carbon energy to sustainable cities and nature-positive design. The Role As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you’ll work across diverse, real-world projects from day one — collaborating with engineers, planners, environmental specialists and digital experts. Projects span: • Transport infrastructure and public realm, • Flood risk management and coastal engineering, • Sustainable urban drainage and green infrastructure, • Water and wastewater infrastructure, • Renewable energy projects (offshore wind, tidal, hydrogen, solar) What you’ll be doing No two days are the same, but you can expect to: • Carry out engineering analysis, assessment and design, • Prepare drawings, calculations, reports and specifications, • Support feasibility studies and option appraisals, • Work with landscape architects, planners and environmental teams, • Attend site visits, surveys and client meetings, • Develop low-carbon and sustainability strategies, • Contribute to flood modelling, drainage design and infrastructure planning, • Use industry-leading software and digital tools Tools & tech exposure Depending on your projects, you may work with: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, InfoDrainage, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, InfoWorks, Navisworks, Python and other specialist engineering software. (You don’t need experience in everything — curiosity and willingness to learn matter more.) Who this is for This role is ideal if you’re: • Passionate about sustainable engineering and climate resilience, • Curious, analytical and not afraid to challenge the norm, • Comfortable collaborating across disciplines, • Keen to build a long-term engineering career, not just land a grad job, • Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, • On track for a 2:1 or above, • Eligible to start work in September 2026, • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, • Motivation to work towards professional accreditation, • Genuine interest in sustainability, climate response and infrastructure resilience, • Competitive graduate salary, • Global profit-share scheme, • Structured graduate development programme, • Professional accreditation support, • Ongoing technical and digital training, • Strong wellbeing and benefits package, • Opportunity to work on projects that improve lives and communities
