Are you an experienced finance professional with strong organisational skills and a keen eye for accuracy? Join a busy and supportive accounts team as their next Finance Assistant, taking responsibility for sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control activities. This is a full‑time temporary role based in Polegate, offering a great opportunity to utilise your skills in invoicing, ledger management, Excel, and credit control within a friendly finance environment. You will be working Monday to Friday, with a choice of 08:30am – 4:30pm or 9:00am – 5:00pm, earning £14.29 per hour. While the role is temporary, it provides an excellent opportunity to showcase your abilities within an established business. Key Responsibilities • Processing and inputting sales invoices with high accuracy, • Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements, • Managing credit control, • Producing and sending client statements, • Maintaining and updating both sales and purchase ledger records, • Compiling and updating internal finance logs and invoice lists, • Supporting general administration within the finance department, • Any other reasonable duties within the accounting function Essential Requirements • Recent experience in a Finance Assistant, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger or Accounts Administrator role, • Strong knowledge of Excel (including formulas, spreadsheets, and data management), • Confident in invoice processing, supplier statement reconciliation, and credit control, • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills, • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines Preferred (Not Essential) Experience • Working in a busy accounts or finance environment, • Using accounting or ERP systems, • Managing aged debt, • Producing finance reports or documentation, • High‑volume data entry Working for First Recruitment as a temporary worker is a great opportunity to experience a variety of workplaces within different industries, whilst offering flexible working hours.
