The Position: Environmental Package Manager - Nuclear Decommissioning Vulcain Engineering UK are seeking an experienced Environmental Package Manager to lead and deliver environmental engineering activities within a major, safety-critical decommissioning programme. Some of the main responsibilities of the Environmental Package Manager will include: • Review and evaluate the decommissioning strategy using extensive industry knowledge and experience, • Provide guidance on programme phasing, priorities, and strategic environmental considerations, • Advise on critical decisions to secure programme benefits, • Ensure appropriate technical environmental processes and operating procedures are developed, followed, and formally implemented, • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of scheduled activities, • Support development of Environmental Management Strategies for assigned projects, including authoring and reviewing: Regulatory Interface Arrangements, Radiological Monitoring Strategy, Energy Efficiency Strategy, Carbon Management Strategy, Sustainability Strategy And Resource Strategy, • Act as Technical Expert for the environmental discipline within the programme, • Lead development of the Environment Case for plant design and decommissioning, working alongside the Safety Case team, • Act as Intelligent Customer for environmental scopes, defining procurement strategies and overseeing outsourced specialist studies, • Manage consultants and environmental delivery teams within the programme, • Identify and assess environmental risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate where required Preferred Profile: Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following: • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline – environmental and/or engineering qualifications preferred, • Extensive experience within the environmental discipline on large, complex programmes – ideally within the nuclear decommissioning or waste management, • Expert knowledge of environmental and sustainability legislation and government standards, • Demonstrated experience embedding Best Available Techniques (BAT) and Environmental Impact Identification (ENVID) into complex engineering projects, • Strong working knowledge of ISO14001, including certification processes, • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management (or equivalent), • Extensive experience within decommissioning, demolition, or facility decommissioning environments, • Knowledge of radiation requirements under Environment Agency permits, • Experience delivering technical training, mentoring, and coaching Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs.
