Army Assistant Regimental Secretary (Fusiliers)

This role is part of the Regimental Headquarters for the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (FUSILIERS) as the Assistant Regimental Secretary with responsibility for the lead on financial matters.You will be working as part of a friendly, professional team in a busy but rewarding environment. Key responsibilities: Welfare: • Assume responsibility for the Regimental database Subscriber Customer Relationship Manager (SCRM), ensuring all legacy records are on a single system. Act as the Data Protection Assistant ensuring compliance with General Data Protection Regulations. You will manage the One Days' Pay Scheme (ODPS) or Charitable giving, ensuring maximum participation from the serving members of the Regiment. You will use SCRM to manage the ODPS., • Act as Finance Director for the Regimental Charities. Your responsibilities will include day to management of the accounts, including bookkeeping, paying bills and prudent management of the bank accounts. You will act as Regimental liaison to the appointed fund manager, and maintain close liaison with the Regimental Investment Committee, and the Regimental Council. You will prepare management reports for Trustees and Regimental Council members as required., • Manage and maintain the ongoing commercial relationships with Regimental suppliers, including Ammo & Co, Allegr, Sarasin and other suppliers., • Where outside organisations provide grants, or opportunities for grants, take the lead in applying for and justifying the use of any granted funds., • Keep up to date with the latest Charities Commission governance guidance, and act as adviser to the Trustees. This will include keeping all governance policies up to date and ensuring that the Charity is compliant with all extant direction., • Be prepared to deputise for Regimental Secretary, which will require a broad knowledge of the Regiment and Regimental affairs, and its connections with wider society, including Livery Companies. Represent the Regiment at events as required, which may involve weekend work., • Encourage the efficient use of RHQ resources, and act as line manager as required. You will be required to organise the annual Officers Cocktail Party, as well as the annual Officers Dinner and other Regimental events as required.
