Job Title: Surveyor – Residential Valuation Location: London (covering Central, North, and West London) Salary: £35,000 to £55,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and motivated RICS Registered Valuation Surveyor to join a highly regarded and rapidly expanding valuation team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to specialise exclusively in residential property, undertaking a wide range of high-profile valuation instructions across prime London markets. The role is client-facing and will suit a residential valuation specialist who enjoys working with lenders, private clients, and tax advisors while delivering technically excellent, Red Book-compliant work. Key Responsibilities Undertake residential property inspections, measurements (RICS/IMF), and due diligence across London's diverse housing stock, with a focus on high-value houses, apartments, and new-build developments. Prepare clear, accurate, and Red Book-compliant valuation reports for: Secured lending (owner-occupied and buy-to-let) Financial reporting (including portfolio valuations) Probate, tax, and matrimonial purposes Acquisitions & disposals for HNW individuals Help to Buy and shared ownership schemes Analyse and interpret comparable evidence from Land Registry, Rightmove, LonRes, and internal databases. Provide valuation advice on market rents, capital values, and development appraisals (residential-led schemes). Maintain excellent communication with lenders, solicitors, private clients, and estate agents throughout the valuation process. Keep up to date with the latest RICS standards (UK VRG), building safety legislation (including EWS1 requirements), and London-specific market trends. Contribute to business development by nurturing relationships with lenders, broker partners, and private client introducers. About You MRICS qualified and an RICS Registered Valuer (essential). Demonstrable post-qualification experience specialising in residential valuation within London. Strong knowledge of valuation methods (comparative, investment, residual), relevant legislation, and London market dynamics. Experience preparing secured lending and/or private client valuation reports to tight deadlines. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and professional scepticism. IT literate, with experience using Residata, ValEx, or property databases such as LonRes, CoStar, or Zoopla. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused, problem-solving approach. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload across multiple London boroughs.
