Key Responsibilities • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, SEMH, and learning disabilities., • Assist the class teacher in adapting and delivering differentiated learning activities to meet individual needs., • Support pupils in developing independence, confidence, communication, and social skills., • Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs, behaviour plans, and individual learning plans., • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and well-being through consistent, nurturing support., • Prepare and organise resources to enhance learning experiences., • Help pupils engage with classroom routines, transitions, and sensory or therapeutic activities., • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, therapists, and external professionals to monitor progress., • Maintain clear records of support, behaviour, and achievement where required., • Ensure the classroom remains a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all pupils.Person SpecificationEssential Skills & Qualities, • Experience working with children (SEN experience preferred but not essential)., • A positive, energetic, and proactive attitude., • Strong communication and teamwork abilities., • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with complex needs., • Understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusive practice., • Ability to build trusting, supportive relationships with pupils., • GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent qualifications)., • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).Desirable Skills, • Experience with ASD, SEMH, or non-verbal communication strategies (PECS, Makaton)., • Training in Team Teach, First Aid, or behaviour de-escalation., • Previous school-based or educational support experience.
