ROLE OVERVIEW We’re looking for a proactive, friendly, and approachable HR Advisor to join GRIDSERVE on a permanent basis. This is a great role for someone who enjoys being a people person, supporting employees, and helping create a positive, inclusive workplace culture. You’ll be the go-to person for HR queries, welcoming colleagues and visitors in the office, and supporting HR processes across the employee lifecycle. You’ll also play a key role in HR project work, including process improvements, continued development of the HRIS, and other initiatives that enhance the employee experience. This role works closely with the HR & Payroll Administrator and reports directly to the Senior HR Manager, supporting them in delivering an efficient and people-focused HR service across the business. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Employee Support & Engagement • Be the friendly, approachable first point of contact for all HR queries from employees and managers., • Welcome employees, visitors, and new starters to the London office, ensuring everyone feels valued and part of the team., • Assist with day-to-day HR processes, such as absence management, flexible working requests, and basic performance or conduct matters., • Work closely with the HR & Payroll Administrator to ensure accurate records and smooth HR operations., • Support the Senior HR Manager in handling employee relations cases and implementing HR policies., • Support recruitment activities, including posting job adverts, coordinating interviews, and assisting with offers., • Assist with onboarding new starters to ensure they feel welcomed, informed, and supported from day one., • Lead and support HR continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the employee experience., • Contribute to the ongoing development and optimisation of the HRIS, ensuring it is fit for purpose and user-friendly., • Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records across HR systems and electronic files., • Produce regular HR reports and dashboards (e.g. headcount, turnover, absence) for review by the Senior HR Manager., • Ensure all HR practices are compliant with internal policies, employment legislation, and relevant external standards (e.g. ISO 9001, 14001, and the Anti-Bribery Policy). PERSON SPECIFICATION Required Experience • Previous experience in a busy HR support or junior advisory role., • Experience supporting the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, contractual changes, and leavers., • Exposure to UK payroll processes, ideally working with an outsourced payroll provider, and comfortable liaising with a payroll administrator., • Experience handling routine employee relations matters such as absence management and flexible working requests., • Demonstrated involvement in HR projects, such as HRIS development, system implementations, or process improvement., • Familiarity with UK employment legislation and HR best practice (desirable)., • Experience working in an SME or fast-paced, project-led environment (desirable). Required Skills and Abilities • Friendly, approachable, and a natural people person., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain things clearly., • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently., • Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks., • Confidence supporting HR queries and internal communications., • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and intranet platforms., • Ability to support HR improvement projects and contribute practical ideas. Required Qualifications and Certifications • CIPD Level 5 qualified or currently working towards it (desirable).
