Field Service Technician (International Travel) Location: UK-based (with extensive international travel) Reporting to: International Service Manager Salary: £45,000 + overtime (paid at 1.5x / 2x) Position Overview We are seeking a Field Service Technician to provide field service, depot repair, and technical support for specialist PAGA (Public Address & General Alarm) / industrial communications systems. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting and repair work with customer-facing technical support (phone and on-site), supporting both domestic and international customers. Reporting to the International Service Manager, you will respond to technical issues efficiently and professionally, liaising with internal departments and customers to diagnose faults, implement corrective actions, and deliver clear service reporting. The position involves significant international travel, including the ability to obtain visas (including the USA) for training when required. Key Responsibilities • Provide on-site field service at UK and international customer locations for PAGA/communications equipment., • Conduct system fault-finding and troubleshooting, including verification of installations and commissioning support., • Perform network configuration changes and support VoIP/network-related troubleshooting., • Provide technical support via telephone to customers and internal/sales stakeholders., • Carry out depot/bench repairs, testing and returning equipment to service., • Build strong working knowledge across product lines and associated systems., • Maintain accurate service records: log customer issues, actions taken, and outcomes in the service database., • Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety:, • Complete risk assessments for each trip and store documentation correctly., • Produce service summary reports and obtain customer sign-off before leaving site., • Formally communicate/escalate recurring customer issues, product faults, or improvement opportunities., • Follow internal procedures for time recording and customer invoicing., • Support additional tasks as required by the International Service Manager. Skills & Competencies • Empathetic, analytical, and solutions-focused with a calm approach under pressure., • Strong customer communication skills (written and verbal) with confident telephone manner., • Able to work independently on-site and represent the business professionally., • Comfortable reading and interpreting wiring and schematic drawings., • Highly organised with good attention to detail and documentation discipline. Qualifications & Experience • Qualification in Electronics or Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)., • Good understanding of PAGA / industrial communications systems (onshore/offshore exposure beneficial)., • Working knowledge of VoIP products and network setup/integration., • Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT networking / network integration and strong computer literacy., • Full, valid driving licence. Travel & Certification Requirements • Willing and able to travel UK & internationally, including extended trips (up to 4 weeks at a time)., • Able to obtain/hold required visas (including USA for training when needed)., • Willing and able to obtain/maintain onshore/offshore certifications and medical certification where required.
