The Business Development Manager (BDM) – Connected Technologies is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across IoT, wireless, cybersecurity, and smart/connected product testing services. This role focuses on expanding market share, building strategic client relationships, and positioning the organization as a trusted partner for connected technology validation and compliance solutions. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Growth • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within connected technologies (IoT devices, smart products, wireless systems, automotive connectivity, etc.), • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and margin targets, • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract closure, • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through proactive outreach, networking, and industry engagement Client Relationship Management • Establish and grow relationships with OEMs, manufacturers, and technology companies, • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on testing, certification, and compliance requirements, • Monitor industry trends (IoT, 5G/6G, cybersecurity regulations, smart devices), • Identify emerging markets and technologies for business expansion, • Provide feedback to leadership on competitive positioning and service development Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with engineering, laboratory, and operations teams to develop proposals and technical solutions, • Coordinate with marketing to support campaigns, events, and brand positioning, • Support pricing strategies and contract negotiations Reporting & Forecasting • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts, • Report on KPIs including pipeline development, win rates, and revenue growth, • Provide regular updates to senior leadership Qualifications Education • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred) Experience • 5–10+ years of business development or sales experience in:, • Connected technologies / IoT, • Wireless or telecom testing, • Cybersecurity or product certification, • TIC industry (preferred), • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets Technical Knowledge • Understanding of:, • IoT ecosystems and connected devices, • Wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, 5G), • Regulatory and compliance frameworks (FCC, CE, cybersecurity standards), • Ability to translate technical offerings into business value Key Skills & Competencies • Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills, • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, • Strategic thinking with a results-driven mindset, • Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and highly organized
