Our aim at Made Tech is to use human-centred technology to improve our society. We believe putting people at the heart of designing, building and delivering public services leads to better outcomes for everyone. As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll lead the analysis and design of products and services that deliver real value for users and for the organisations we work with. You'll work with stakeholders to understand complex business challenges, shape the options for change, and give teams the evidence they need to make good decisions. You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, and you’ll often be the only Business Analyst on a delivery. That means taking ownership of business analysis from discovery through to implementation: investigating the problem, understanding the policy, process and technology context, defining clear and evidence-based requirements, and staying involved as solutions are designed, built and adopted. You’ll be the person who brings clarity. You'll build trusted relationships with stakeholders at every level, translate between business and technical audiences, and use your judgement to choose an approach that's proportionate to the problem in front of you, whether the delivery is Agile, iterative or predictive. Beyond your engagement, you'll be an active member of our Business Analysis Community of Practice, sharing what you've learned, coaching colleagues, and helping to grow our analysis capability across Made Tech and with our clients. • Investigate business problems, operational needs and opportunities, and recommend improvements to business processes, services and technology, • Lead the elicitation and analysis of business and user needs, defining clear, prioritised and testable requirements that trace through to delivered functionality, • Analyse complex requirements, identify the underlying issues, and evaluate solution options, balancing user needs, business objectives, risks and constraints, • Lead option analysis and feasibility assessments, and communicate the benefits, impacts and trade-offs of proposed approaches so decisions are well informed, • Model business processes, systems and data to build a shared understanding of current and future states, and work with stakeholders to validate that those models reflect reality, • Understand the business, policy, regulatory and operational constraints in play, and make sure they're reflected in requirements, solution design and delivery, • Facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder groups to agree success measures and acceptance criteria, • Select and apply appropriate analysis methods, tools and techniques, tailoring your approach to the delivery environment, • Define testing and validation approaches, including business scenarios and acceptance criteria, to give confidence that solutions meet business and user needs, • Use insight from user research, feedback and data to inform requirements and improvements, • Plan and manage business analysis activities so they're delivered effectively and proportionately, adapting as needs change, • Contribute to our Community of Practice, and support colleagues through coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback, • Delivery of good public services for users, shown through relevant measures such as data, metrics, KPIs or the passing of service standards, • Client, peer and stakeholder feedback, • Quality and traceability of requirements through to delivery, • Contribution to the growth of business analysis capability at Made Tech, • Investigate business problems, operational needs and opportunities, and recommend identify, investigate and communicate complex business problems and opportunities, and provide expert advice that informs both immediate decisions and longer-term plans, • Confident in requirements definition and management: establishing requirement lifecycles, maintaining traceability, and keeping requirements clear, prioritised and aligned to business objectives, • Skilled in business process and systems analysis: modelling how processes, systems, data and people interact to identify gaps, risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement, • Able to identify opportunities to improve business performance, and to design and evaluate business process and usability testing, • A credible advisor to client stakeholders, able to tailor communication to different audiences and make complex information clear, • Able to engage and influence stakeholders to build consensus, manage expectations and support informed decision making, • Experienced in Agile and iterative delivery, and able to recommend and champion the delivery approach that best suits business, user and delivery needs, • Committed to your own development, and generous with your knowledge: sharing approaches and good practice, and supporting the development of others, • Experience working in or with the UK public sector, • Experience contributing to business analysis standards, methods, templates or guidance, • Experience mentoring or coaching other analysts, • Familiarity with the GDS Service Standard and user-centred design principles At this point, we hope you're feeling excited about Made Tech and the job opportunity. Even if you don't feel that you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply. Security Clearance An increasing number of our customers are specifying a minimum of SC (security check) clearance in order to work on their projects. As a result, we're looking for all successful candidates for this role to have eligibility. Eligibility for SC requires 5 years' continuous UK residency. Please note that if at any point during the interview process it is apparent that you may not be eligible for SC, we won't be able to progress your application and we will contact you to let you know why. We believe we can use tech to make public services better. We also believe this can happen best when our own team represents the society that actually uses the services we work on. We’re collectively continuing to grow a culture that is happy, healthy, safe and inspiring for people of all backgrounds and experiences, so we encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply for roles with us. When you apply, we’ll put you in touch with a member of our talent team who can help with any needs or adjustments we may need to make to help with your application. We’ve put together this blog as a resource to share more about reasonable adjustments and some examples of what this could include. We also welcome any feedback on how we can improve the experience for future candidates. We believe we can use tech to make public services better. If you’d like to speak to someone from one of these groups about their experience as an employee, please do let a member of the Made Tech talent team know. We are always listening to our growing teams and evolving the benefits available to our people. As we scale, as do our benefits and we are scaling quickly. We've recently introduced a flexible benefit platform which includes a Smart Tech scheme, Cycle to work scheme, and an individual benefits allowance which you can invest in a Health care cash plan or Pension plan. We’re also big on connection and have an optional social and wellbeing calendar of events for all employees to join should they choose to. Here are some of our most popular benefits listed below: Paid counselling - we offer paid counselling as well as financial and legal advice Our hiring process is designed to be thorough, transparent, and supportive, guiding candidates through each step.
