The business delivers fully engineered solutions across conventional and Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), ranging from standalone machines to fully automated manufacturing cells.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is a hands-on, customer-facing applications role combining technical expertise with project delivery. The successful candidate will support customers through training, pre-sales engineering, and the delivery of turnkey EDM solutions across the UK and Europe.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDeliver structured customer training on EDM machine operation, programming, and maintenance\n\nSupport pre-sales activity, including component test cuts, fixture planning, and cycle time estimation\n\nDevelop machining strategies and produce CNC programs using ISO and CAM-based systems\n\nManage prove-out, First Article Inspection (FAI), and acceptance criteria at customer sites\n\nWork independently and collaboratively to deliver complex, high-value engineering projects\n\nTravel across the UK and Europe to support turnkey project implementation\n\nCandidate Profile\n\nAt least 4 years’ experience within an EDM machine tool environment (Wire EDM, Sink EDM, or Fast Hole Drilling)\n\nStrong working knowledge of ISO NC programming\n\nPractical background as a Production Engineer or CNC Machinist / Setter / Operator\n\nExperience using CAM software for program generation and simulation (beneficial but not essential)\n\nHighly self-motivated with strong organisational and time management skills\n\nClear and confident communicator, both written and verbal\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nExposure to advanced machining and automation technologies\n\nVaried role with international travel and customer interaction\n\nCompetitive salary package\n\nCompany car, private healthcare, and pension scheme\n\nThis opportunity would suit an experienced EDM professional seeking a customer-focused applications role with technical depth and variety.\n\n Data Protection Notice: By applying for this position, you consent to Recruit Engineering processing and storing your personal data, including your CV, contact details, and any other relevant information, for the purpose of providing work-finding services.
