What you’ll be doing: • Responding to mechanical breakdowns and diagnosing faults to minimise production downtime, • Carrying out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and improvements across site equipment, • Delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to improve reliability and performance, • Supporting installation, relocation, and upgrade of machinery and plant, • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures and legislation, • Accurately recording maintenance activity and supporting continuous improvement, • Contributing to a well-organised, cost-effective spare parts system What we’re looking for: • Apprentice-trained or NVQ Level 2 qualified Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent), • At least 2 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing or production environment, • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills, • Electrically competent, with a willingness to further upskill, • 18th Edition qualification desirable, • Experience working on industrial manufacturing machinery highly advantageous, • Able to work independently, make confident decisions, and remain calm under pressure, • Flexible approach, with some overtime required, • Comfortable working at height when required Why Join Westland?
