Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 and Small Group Support) - Full-TimeLocation: Liverpool, MerseysideContract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Job Description We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Liverpool, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs across early years, primary, and secondary age groups. The school serves families from Liverpool and surrounding areas across Merseyside. This role involves providing tailored 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils access learning, build independence, and achieve their individual potential within a supportive and inclusive school community. The successful candidate will have prior experience working with children or young people with special educational needs and a genuine passion for inclusive education. Key Responsibilities Provide SEN support: Deliver high-quality 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties, adapting approaches to suit different ages and abilities. Support learning and development: Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum through differentiated activities, sensory approaches, and targeted interventions aligned with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Promote inclusion and engagement: Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports positive behaviour, confidence, and active participation in learning. Work collaboratively: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals to implement and review EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies. Social, emotional, and behavioural support: Support pupils' emotional regulation, social skills, and communication, using appropriate behaviour management and de-escalation techniques. Monitor and record progress: Track and report on pupils' progress, behaviour, and development, contributing to reviews and planning meetings. Personal care and physical support: Provide support with personal care, mobility, or medical needs where required, maintaining dignity, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
