Mechanical Design Engineer - Water & Wastewater Projects Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in water, wastewater or infrastructure projects? The Technical Lead will provide hands‑on technical leadership across complex, multi‑supplier systems, applying systems engineering best practice to the design, integration, change and assurance of mission‑critical IT services. Description Lead Combat Systems Engineer Location: Farnborough, with flexibility to work from home dependent on business demands We are seeking a highly skilled and security-cleared Maritime Combat Systems Engineer (MCSE) to lead the design and implementation of a Combat System for the Leidos Sea Dagger, a brand new naval combat platform. The candidate will have extensive experience working in the defence industry, with specific expertise in maritime combat, C2 and Combat Management systems, data networks and architectures, mission systems, and C4ISR integration as well as understanding of overall platform design and architecture. This role will include selecting, implementing, integrating and setting to work various combat system capabilities drawn from Industry partners and internally Leidos generated products. A key element of this role will be integration of Agentic AI systems into the combat system with a strong focus on autonomous systems. Familiarity with StrikeNet and other emergent naval systems would be advantageous. Lead CNC Turner We are seeking an experienced Lead CNC Turner to take responsibility for the turning section within our clients machine shop. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to support workflow, quality, and continuous improvement across the department. Key Responsibilities Set, operate, and programme CNC lathes (including Y-axis, sliding head, sub-spindle, standard CNC, and manual machines where required) Interpret detailed engineering drawings and machine to tight tolerances Take ownership of job setup, tooling selection, and process optimisation Ensure quality standards through in-process inspection and final checks Lead the turning section to meet production targets and delivery deadlines Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions Liaise with Production Planning to optimise job sequencing Maintain tooling, equipment, and housekeeping standards Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce waste Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as a CNC Turner within a precision engineering environment Strong experience setting and operating CNC lathes (Fanuc, Haas, or similar controls advantageous) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately Experience working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards Solid understanding of tooling, materials, and machining processes Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing desirable Previous leadership or mentoring experience advantageous Ideally with offline programming experience with Fusion 360 (not essential)
