Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week Benefits: • One half-day early finish each week (usually a Friday), • Cycle to Work Scheme, • Service Award Scheme with increasing annual leave and long service payments, • 33 days annual leave entitlement, inclusive of statutory bank holidays, • Fixed contribution pension scheme, • Free On-site parking, • more Key Responsibilities of Quality Engineer: • Own and maintain company QHSE policies, ensuring alignment with business strategy, customer requirements, and all applicable UK legislation., • Ensure the business meets all statutory obligations in Health, Safety and Environmental management, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation. Liaise with regulatory authorities and manage reporting obligations., • Lead the site’s QHSE risk analysis, ensuring effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks. Provide governance through structured management reviews and regular reporting., • Plan, coordinate, and lead internal/ external audits, maintaining certification for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and AS 9100 standards., • Oversee non-conformity processes, driving structured problem-solving, prevention, and measurable improvements in Cost of Poor Quality, safety, and environmental performance., • Represent the business on QHSE matters with customers and suppliers, ensuring prompt issue resolution, alignment to standards, and improved supply chain quality and compliance., • Promote a strong safety culture across the business, ensuring robust risk assessments, safe systems of work, and incident investigations are carried out effectively. Drive proactive initiatives to prevent accidents and unsafe conditions., • Develop and maintain site emergency response plans, ensuring regular testing, drills, and workforce readiness., • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and lead initiatives to reduce waste, energy use, and carbon footprint. Support ESG and sustainability reporting where applicable., • Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors receive appropriate QHSE training and inductions. Maintain competence records and drive regular refresher programmes., • Coach, mentor, and upskill production and operational teams, embedding ownership of QHSE responsibilities and fostering a continuous improvement culture with “right first time, safe every time.”, • Track and report QHSE KPIs and compliance data, providing recommendations to drive business improvement and support long-term growth. Key Requirements of Quality Engineer: • Proven leadership experience in QHSE management within a manufacturing or engineering environment., • In-depth knowledge of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, with demonstrable experience ensuring legal compliance and liaising with regulatory authorities., • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and AS 9100 management systems., • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) – NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent desirable., • Lead Auditor - essential, • Engineering qualification (such as a HNC or degree) – essential, • Quality qualification (such as Diploma in Quality Management) - desirable, • IEMA qualification or equivalent in environmental management – desirable, • Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean background in continuous improvement – desirable
