Job Purpose: \n To effectively lead, motivate, and support the production team to deliver consistent, high-quality manufacturing performance in line with business objectives and strategic goals. The role involves ensuring that production targets, efficiency, quality, and safety standards are achieved while promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The Assistant Shift Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimise processes, manage resources efficiently, and maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations. \n \n Responsibilities: \n ERP & Production Reporting \n\n • Ensure all production activities, raw material consumption, and finished goods are accurately recorded in the ERP system Microsoft business central.\n, • Monitor production KPIs (output, OEE, waste, downtime) and provide real-time reporting.\n, • Validate and approve system transactions to ensure data accuracy for inventory and traceability.\n\n \n Warehouse & Inventory Returns \n\n • Manage and record material returns to warehouse with proper documentation in ERP.\n, • Ensure reconciliation of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods at shift end.\n, • Work closely with warehouse/logistics to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize variances\n, • Carry out stock counts on the lines at the start and end of the shift.\n\n \n Production & Operations Management \n\n • Oversee shift production to achieve daily/weekly/monthly production targets.\n, • Plan and allocate manpower efficiently across production lines.\n, • Ensure minimum downtime through proactive coordination with maintenance and QA teams.\n, • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, waste reduction, and resource utilization.\n\n \n Safety & Compliance \n\n • Enforce compliance with safety, food safety (HACCP & GMP), and hygiene standards on the shop floor.\n, • Conduct regular safety checks and ensure immediate corrective actions.\n, • Promote a zero-accident culture during the shift.\n\n \n Audit & Documentation \n\n • Maintain audit-ready records for production, safety, and quality compliance.\n, • Ensure all SOPs, checklists, and logs are updated, signed off, and properly stored.\n, • Support internal and external audits (quality, safety, regulatory).\n\n \n People Management \n\n • Lead, supervise, and motivate the shift workforce to meet operational goals.\n, • Handle workforce discipline, attendance, and training needs during the shift.\n, • Promote teamwork, accountability, and high performance among operators and line leaders.\n\n \n Continuous Improvement \n\n • Driving the CI Methodology for their respective shift and projects by ensuring participation of CI members.\n\n \n Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) \n\n • ERP transaction accuracy and timeliness\n, • Production numbers vs. plan\n, • Material reconciliation and return-to-warehouse compliance\n, • Safety compliance and zero lost-time accidents\n, • Audit readiness and documentation compliance\n, • Labor productivity and attendance management\n\n
