Our client is a family run business, with an amazing product and customer centric approach. They have 160 stores in the UK and a rapidly growing online, International and concessions business. They really care about people, customers, and the communities in which they trade and are now looking for a Commercial FP&A Manager to be based out of their amazing Amersham head office. The role will be hybrid, with a split of three days office, two days working from home. As their Commercial FP&A Manager you will be responsible for delivering actional financial insights, supporting strategic and trading decisions, and driving margin and profitability improvements across channels and categories. You will lead forecasting, budgeting and performance analysis while providing critical support on pricing, promotions, stock planning and supplier negotiations. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will influence key decisions by translating financial data into clear commercial recommendations, helping the business achieve its growth and profitability goals. You'll be a commercially driven finance professional with a strong background in FP&A or commercial finance, ideal gained in within a multi-site retailer or consumer goods environment. You have hands-on experience partnering with Buying and Merchandising teams and a clear understanding of how trading decisions impact sales, margin and stock. You're confident building forecasts, analysing performance and influencing decisions through sharp financial insight. Commercial FP&A Manager – Responsibilities - Preparation and review of Weekly and Monthly Trading reports. - Lead budgeting, reforecasting and financial planning cycles for relevant channels and categories with the buying and merchandising teams. - Monitor and report on KPIs such as intake margin, markdowns, cover and sell through to drive performance. - Collaborate with the Buying and Merchandising teams to improve reporting capabilities and data tools, aligning outputs with overall business strategy. - Provide effective challenge and support to the Chief Product Officer, Buying and Trading Director, highlighting risks and opportunities. - Collaborate with merchandising and buying teams to provide variance analysis on Sales, Margin, Stock and Intake. - Support the Chief Product Officer and Buying Director with supplier analysis to support negotiations/profitability. - Development of Power BI dashboards to support stakeholders with meaningful analysis. - Provide ad hoc analysis or model propositions for promotions, projects and business requests. - Support, Mentor, and Develop Finance Analyst. Commercial FP&A Manager – Required Skills - Proven experience in a Commercial Finance or FP&A role, preferably in retail or FMGC - Strong financial modelling and Excel skills - Strong numerical and commercial acumen with attention to detail - Excellent communication and influencing skills - able to challenge and support non finance stakeholders. - Strong business acumen with understanding of merchandising and buying. - Proven experience business partnering senior business leaders by reporting and clearly explaining financial results and insights. - Experience with using Power BI and building dashboards is desirable. - Proactive, detail-orientated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within retail, FMGC or hospitality multi-site led businesses. - Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA. The role will be hybrid, with three days per week based out of their Amersham Head office, and two days per week working from home. As their Partnership Merchandise Planner, you'll assist the Merchandiser in all trading and planning requirements for their International partnership channels. You will need to work collaboratively with Buying, Merchandising, Branch Merchandising teams and our external partnerships. You will be a self-starter with a strong interest in retail and the drive to working in a fast paced commercially driven environment. Able to work at pace cross functionally, be highly analytical, super organised and possess strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities concurrently. Partnership Merchandise Planner – Responsibilities • Assist Merchandiser in all aspects to drive trade and the delivery of all relevant KPI's – Sales, Ranging, Profitability and stock availability., • Review weekly and in-season trade at SKU level including best and worst sellers., • Review and optimise sales utilising key channel trade reports and identify risk and opportunities with proposed actions to the Merchandiser., • Ranging, actioning system ranging and deranging for partnerships., • Create seasonal/promotional planograms with a commercial lens., • Work collaboratively with Pricing Manager in all aspects of price changes., • Assist Merchandiser/Promotions Manager with collating all data for range and space planning., • Attend key trading and seasonal planning meetings, sharing key analysis., • WSSI and Line Cards, Review and work with Branch Merchandising and propose trading alternatives for sign off by Merchandiser., • Build relationships and work collaboratively with Marketing, Retail Operations and Branch Merchandising to agreed promotional and trading plan., • Instigate and produce seasonal and ad hoc analysis that can assist the Merchandiser with commercial decisions. Partnership Merchandise Planner – Required Skills • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams., • Previous retail head office experience at an admin or merchandising assistant planner level would be advantageous., • Strong analytical skills and able to interpret data and make sound commercial decisions., • A natural ability to build relationships, influence & manage relationships in a cross functional role., • Natural interest and curiosity in Head Office trading., • Resilience and the ability to deliver under pressure with a solution focused attitude., • Experience in analysis of high volumes of data in a commercial environment.
