About the Role We are seeking a Data Protection Analyst to join Howden’s UK Data Protection Function. This role will be central to developing, implementing, and maintaining our data protection control and oversight framework across Broking (Specialty and Retail) and Reinsurance divisions. You will provide pragmatic, risk-based guidance to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, PECR, and other applicable legislation in the territories where we operate. Key Responsibilities • Deliver elements of the annual Data Protection Plan in collaboration with the Head of Data Protection, • Provide expert advice on data subject requests, breaches, impact assessments, vendor reviews, contractual obligations, and privacy notices, • Monitor compliance with data protection laws and internal policies, identifying risks and coordinating remediation and training, • Support projects such as acquisitions, integrations, and new system implementations from a data protection perspective, • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Compliance, Risk, IT, Legal, Marketing, and Operations to ensure a consistent approach, • Contribute to embedding policies, standards, and procedures across the organisation What We’re Looking For • Detailed knowledge of UK data protection law and ePrivacy regulations (including PECR), • Experience delivering data protection plans within complex, multi-company structures, • Strong background in breach assessment, subject request fulfilment, contractual reviews, and compliance monitoring, • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, • Ability to provide pragmatic, commercially aware, risk-based advice, • Professional certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, PC.dp) preferred but not essential, • Financial Services experience What do we offer in return?
