They help residents develop independence, ensure their well-being, and promote a safe and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities - Provide day-to-day emotional and practical support to residents. - Assist with personal care, daily routines, and household tasks as needed. - Support individuals in developing life skills, including cooking, budgeting, and hygiene. - Promote independence while ensuring residents’ safety and well-being. - Build positive relationships with residents, families, and other professionals. - Respond to challenging behaviors using de-escalation techniques and person-centered approaches. - Administer medication (if trained and authorized). - Maintain accurate records and reports on residents’ progress and incidents. - Participate in team meetings, training, and development sessions. - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies. - Skills & Qualifications - Experience in social care, residential care, or a similar role (preferred). - NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it). - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Empathy, patience, and resilience in challenging situations. - Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. - A valid driver’s license (may be required, depending on the role). - Enhanced DBS check (required). - Desirable Attributes - Experience working with individuals with disabilities, mental health needs, or behavioral challenges. - Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures. - First Aid and Medication Administration training (or willingness to train).
