About Us Lyell Developments Ltd is a new residential developer looking to deliver some exciting new projects across the Home Counties and Midlands. With a strong financially secured pipeline of ongoing and upcoming developments, where we now have a new opportunity for a Senior Site Manager / Project Manager from the house building industry sector to join our close-knit team and undertake a hands-on approach in growing with the company. The Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager / Projects Manager or someone with the experience ready to step up into a Senior Site Managers role who has worked within the private housing developer environment. As our Senior Site Manager / Project Manager, you will be responsible for organising resources and to direct the management of designated development projects to achieve progressive project completion to quality and specification and on budget. This is a hands-on role with support staff, so you must be comfortable managing everything on site through the development life cycle. Key Responsibilities • To direct the necessary labour, plant, staff, and equipment to achieve both plot and project completion on time, to specification and within budget., • Monitor that the Buying team and Surveying department order the correct materials and sub-contract services in good time to meet contract objectives., • Manage site teams by monitoring performance against contract targets and instigating any necessary corrective actions., • Ensure compliance with Company Safety Policy and Health and Safety Regulations, • To direct the necessary labour, plant, staff, and equipment to achieve both plot and project completion on time, to specification and within budget., • Monitor that the Buying team and Surveying department order the correct materials and sub-contract services in good time to meet contract objectives., • Ensure that staff and operatives are managed and led effectively by developing the skills and attitudes of managers leading to provision of a working environment that engenders high morale., • Train and develop subordinates to meet current and assessed future requirements., • 100% compliance with current NHBC / Local Authority standards., • Achieve 5* status on overall satisfaction levels on the completed Customer satisfaction survey questionnaire., • Build productive stakeholder relationships., • Adhere to our company values – Integrity, Caring and Quality. Essential Skills, Qualities and Experience • A 10+ proven background in new build housing site management., • Degree-qualified in Construction Management, CIOB, NVQ 7, (or working toward) preferred., • Proficient in Asta Programme Management, MS Office programmes; particularly Word and Outlook., • Proven ability to manage projects and deliver quality work on time, within budget., • Able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously., • Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation., • Thorough, with strong attention to detail., • Strong Time management skills with an ability to prioritise., • Ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels., • Strong leadership skills with an ability to mentor and develop others., • Valid SMSTS certificate., • Valid First Aid at Work certificate., • Valid Basic Scaffolding Awareness Certificate., • Detail-focused, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard environment., • Based within sensible commutable distance to one of our new developments located near Luton - Bedfordshire, Colchester- Essex, Great Yarmouth - Norfolk and Leicester - Leicestershire.
