
Goodwill Accommodation Ltd provides support to our adult residents who have long term mental health issues. Our aim is to support and encourage them to enable a maximum level of independence. We aim to help them identify and achieve their goals and aspirations. Your role would be to support our service user in these goals. This would involve the following - supporting and encouraging them to take medication, supporting them to attend appointments regarding their mental and physical health, supporting them to maintain their personal hygiene, encouraging them to learn skills for activities of daily living (e.g. cleaning, cooking, food preparation, laundry). You will also encourage them to take part in community activities and assist with identifying suitable choices. As part of this you would need to keep and update reports, monitor medication, liaise with mental health and other medical professionals, and outside community resources. Your duties would also include preparing meals for the residents and some cleaning of the property. We are a small company and work closely as a team, which helps us keep our high standards and high levels of support. Getting to know our service users is essential for their progression. Job Title: Support Worker Reports To: Director As a Support Worker in our HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) properties, you will play a crucial role in providing practical and emotional support to residents, helping them to live as independently as possible. You will work closely with individuals who may have diverse needs, including mental health issues, learning disabilities, or other vulnerabilities. Your aim is to empower residents, promote their well-being, and ensure a safe and supportive living environment. Responsibilities include: β’ Provide one-on-one support to residents, tailored to their individual needs and support plans., β’ Assist residents with daily living skills, such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene., β’ Support residents in accessing healthcare, employment, education, and other community resources., β’ Help residents manage their medication and attend medical appointments., β’ Monitor residents' well-being and report any concerns or changes in their condition., β’ Promote social inclusion and encourage residents to participate in activities and events., β’ Maintain accurate records of support provided and resident progress., β’ Work collaboratively with other support staff, healthcare professionals, and external agencies., β’ Ensure the safety and security of the HMO property and its residents. Qualifications: β’ Previous experience in a support role, preferably working with vulnerable adults., β’ Understanding the needs of individuals with mental health issues, learning disabilities, or other support needs., β’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., β’ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
