Our client a leading water sector specialist are looking for MEICA Project Engineers to start ASAP in Nottingham.\n\nThis is a full time position, sponsorship cannot be offered, candidates must have full RTW in the UK. \n\nRole Overview \nSupport the delivery of mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering projects within the water and wastewater sector. This role combines technical expertise, project coordination, and site support to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to client specifications. The role requires travel to regional sites and occasional overnight stays depending on project needs.\n\n Key Responsibilities \nContribute to planning, design, and execution of water and wastewater projects. \nProvide engineering support for new installations, refurbishments, and ongoing construction works. \nReview and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and client standards. \nEnsure compliance with WIMES, BS 7671, and relevant industry requirements. \nCollaborate with site teams and supervisors to maintain quality, safety, and project standards. \nPrepare and manage project documentation, including RAMS, submittals, and progress reports. \nConduct site visits for inspections, surveys, and technical support. \nLiaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues. \nSupport commissioning, handover, and operational testing. \nPromote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture. \n Required Knowledge & Skills\n \nStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and civil systems in water infrastructure, including treatment processes, pumping systems, pipelines, and associated assets. \nSkilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and documentation, with experience in construction, commissioning, and operational handover. \nExperienced in project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and coordinating design, construction, and commissioning across disciplines. \nAble to manage technical queries, site issues, design changes, and contract administration, including NEC principles where applicable. \nWell-versed in health, safety, and environmental regulations, quality assurance, inspections, and compliance documentation. \nStrong communicator, able to liaise with project managers, contractors, designers, and operations teams, and produce technical reports, updates, and documentation. \nActive participant in site meetings, design reviews, and risk workshops, bringing an analytical, problem-solving mindset. \nCollaborative team player committed to continuous technical development and industry best practices. Experience & Qualifications\n \nEssential:\n \nDegree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience). \nMinimum 2 years’ experience in the water industry, utilities, or heavy engineering projects. \nSolid technical knowledge of pumps, pipework, MCCs, and instrumentation. \nFamiliarity with WIMES and water industry client standards. \nProficient in Microsoft Office and project documentation systems. \nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel. Desirable:\n \nMulti-discipline project experience. \nEUSR Water Hygiene and confined space training. \nExperience with project planning software (MS Project, Primavera). \nKnowledge of CDM regulations and construction management principles
