About the Job As Key Account Manager – AOG & Aerospace at 26AVIATION, you’ll be stepping into one of the most technically demanding yet rewarding areas of aviation. You’ll be working with airlines, MROs, and aerospace manufacturers that rely on us when every second counts. Whether it’s moving an urgent aircraft component via charter in an AOG situation, coordinating cargo charters transporting aerospace equipment such as helicopters, major aerospace components or cutting-edge space technology, the impact of your work will be immediate and tangible. Success in this role is about building long-term client relationships within the AOG and Aerospace sector. You’ll be responsible for developing and managing your own portfolio of customers, ensuring they receive the fast, precise, and dependable support they need in critical situations. To succeed, you’ll need to remain calm under pressure, think clearly in fast-moving circumstances, and show resilience when challenges arise. AOG work is unpredictable and urgent, so flexibility, problem-solving, and a steady, professional approach will be key to ensuring every movement is handled with care and confidence. This is a commercial role, but it’s also operational, you’ll see each charter through from start to finish, handling everything from sourcing aircraft, negotiating contracts and closing deals, to flight setup, monitoring, and successful completion, sometimes during unsociable hours. You’ll be the key point of contact for your customers and the operators, ensuring every charter runs like clockwork. You’ll also travel domestically and internationally, visiting customers, attending trade shows, and even flight ‘repping’ or ‘riding’ for your own charter movements, when required. What you’ll be responsible for • Proactively develop and manage a portfolio of AOG and aerospace customers including airlines, MROs, aerospace OEMs, and specialist engineering companies., • Generate new business opportunities through regular outbound sales calls, industry networking, and relationship building., • Handle inbound enquiries for AOG/aerospace-related charter flights, while coordinating with our time-critical logistics division to ensure any urgent NFO, OBC, or road transport requests are managed seamlessly., • Manage the full commercial and operational lifecycle of each charter booking, from sourcing aircraft through to execution, monitoring and post-flight follow-up., • Build strong relationships with charter operators, time-critical logistics providers, and other key suppliers, including future IATA accreditation., • Travel domestically and internationally to meet clients, attend trade shows, and oversee aerospace projects and charters., • Represent 26AVIATION as the go-to partner for AOG and aerospace solutions, ensuring customer needs are met with precision and urgency., • Participate in handling urgent out-of-hours AOG calls and enquiries., • Maintain accurate customer records and sales pipeline updates in line with company CRM processes., • Monitor aerospace market trends, competitor activity, and global developments to identify new opportunities. What we need from you • Experience in the air charter sector, project logistics, aerospace logistics, or a similarly technical and time-sensitive industry., • Proven track record in sales or key account management with high-value clients., • Strong personality with solid relationship-building skills, particularly with senior decision-makers., • Confidence in handling objections and communicating directly with senior decision-makers., • Commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills and attention to detail., • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to think strategically and solve problems under pressure., • Resilience, tenacity, and a proactive mindset, you see every challenge as an opportunity., • Skilled at mapping out organisations and decision-makers within the charter space, creating a targeted plan to convert them into customers., • Willingness and flexibility to work unsociable hours when required (AOG is fully 24/7)., • High level of numeracy and attention to detail, particularly when preparing quotes, negotiating deals, and executing contracts., • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly., • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage your own workload effectively., • A collaborative team player who actively contributes to a positive and performance-driven culture., • A calm, professional presence even in high-pressure or fast-moving situations., • The ambition and confidence to grow a wide-reaching network across the air charter sector It would be great if you also have • Fluency in a second language (spoken or written)., • Working knowledge of CRM platforms., • A strong understanding of Microsoft Windows 11 and cloud-based IT tools., • General IT competence, including file sharing, syncing, and cloud-based platforms.
