Head of Procurement Looking to take the function to the next level — improving visibility and strengthening supplier strategy Salary:Competitive salary plus package Working Hours:Full-time, 8.30am – 5.15pm (Monday-Friday) About the role: My client is a HVAC wholesale business specialising in air conditioning, ventilation and associated products. As they scale, they need a Head of Procurement to take the function to the next level — improving visibility, strengthening supplier strategy, and helping the business operate more efficiently as it grows. While the role requires regular on-site presence across the sites, they offer flexibility where possible. What you’ll be doing: • Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing procurement team and assess the potential of a category management approach / practice, • Own and deliver a procurement strategy that improves stock availability, margin, and supplier performance, • Improve procurement processes, systems, and data to increase visibility and reduce manual activity, • Enable procurement automation to reduce manual processes and labour inefficiency., • Assist the Supplier Relationship Manager in managing key supplier relationships, driving commercial value through effective negotiation of pricing, rebates, and long-term supply agreements., • Take ownership of inventory performance, balancing availability, lead times, and working capital, • Expand drop ship and supplier-led fulfilment models, • Work closely with operations and sales to align supply with demand What you’ll bring: • Experience leading procurement or supply chain in wholesale, distribution, or technical product environments (HVAC ideal), • Track record of developing high performing departments and teams, • Strong background in supplier negotiation and global sourcing, • Experience improving procurement processes, systems, or automation, • Confident using ERP systems and data to support decisions, • Experience managing stock, product ranges, and inventory performance including demand planning, • Understanding of imports, lead times, and international supply chains (EU/Asia), • Commercial mindset with a practical, hands-on approach Benefits: • 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays!
