This includes supporting operational and project teams to meet regulatory requirements and embedding the Integrated Work System (IWS) HSE Pillar across the site. * Building HSE capabilities and driving a positive safety culture Through coaching, mentoring and colleague engagement, you’ll help build confidence and competence in HSE practices. You’ll work across all levels of the site to promote safe behaviours, encourage ownership and embed a proactive, prevention-first mindset. * Tracking performance and driving continuous improvement You’ll monitor key HSE metrics, analyse trends and present performance data to the Safety Committee, Site Leadership Team and Executive reviews. You’ll use this insight to shape strategic plans, identify improvement opportunities and ensure legal compliance is maintained. * Managing the site HSE budget and capital allocation You’ll identify and prioritise risk reduction opportunities, oversee the annual HSE capital spend and ensure resources are used effectively to support long-term improvements. You’ll also manage claims and work closely with insurers and inspectors during investigations. * Acting as a visible and influential leader across the site You’ll be a proactive member of the Site Leadership Team, championing HSE initiatives and supporting the delivery of site OGSM and CBN targets. You’ll lead internal audits, interface with regulatory bodies and help shape the site’s safety culture through clear communication and collaboration. Who are we? You’ll also need an internal auditing qualification and be a member of IOSH. * Experience in FMCG manufacturing and leadership You’ll have worked in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and been part of a Leadership Team, using your influence to drive cultural and performance improvements. * Strong technical and analytical skills You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office tools, interpreting HSE data and trends, and applying insights to shape strategic plans. Head of Platforms & Operations Salary: to be discussed Sunderland - onsite 3x per week Are you a leader with strong technical knowledge of the design and delivery of core platforms, as well as demonstrable experience managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships? We’re looking for someone who can drive innovation and step outside of the status quo. If successful, you will be responsible for the following: • Strategic leadership – establish and deliver the strategic roadmap for the team, identifying new technologies and ways of working to achieve objectives, • Platform Management – build and operation of core platforms across infrastructure, storage, on-premise and cloud solutions (AWS, Azure), EUC, DevOps, • Solutions Architecture – lead a small team of solutions architects, ensuring frameworks and standards are applied, • Technical Services – lead a team of technical engineers providing engineering services across EUC, data platforms, Network infrastructure, M365, Cloud hosting etc, • Project Management – oversee delivery of key IT initiatives in line with governance standards, • Support – lead a disparate team of field engineers providing hands-on support across various sites, • Change leadership – you will manage a team through a significant period of change, so prior experience of this will be ideal, • Relationship management – you will build and manage effective relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels as well as key external suppliers The successful Head of Platforms & Operations will have: • Proven experience in platform engineering and IT operations, • Demonstrated success in leading teams through change, • Broad knowledge across technologies/practices including: Cloud, EUC, Storage, Collaboration Solutions, Networking, Data Platforms, DevOps, CI/CD and container orchestration, • Exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences The salary and package on offer is generous and comprehensive.
