Job Advert\nSenior SCADA & OT Engineer\nRemote working with visits to sites as required\nPermanent position\n\nThe Role:\nAs a Senior SCADA & OT Engineer within the Asset Integrity Management (AIM) Team and reporting directly to the Global Head of Engineering. You will act as the technical authority for SCADA systems, control systems, operational technology (OT), telemetry, and operational cybersecurity across OFTO assets.\nThe role ensures secure, reliable, and compliant digital control environments supporting offshore and onshore HV operations. You will provide system ownership, configuration governance, cyber assurance, and expert fault response across the asset lifecycle.\n\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:\nSCADA System Ownership:\nMaintain and optimise SCADA systems, RTUs, PLCs, bay controllers, relays, I/O modules, HMIs, and other.\nEnsure accurate signalling for alarms, events, analogue values, breaker states, and system statuses.\nManage historian systems (PI, InfluxDB, Genesys, etc.), ensuring data availability and integrity.\nMaintain configuration records, backups, firmware, and version control.\nLCM of SCADA systems, including - design, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning, ensuring system reliability, cybersecurity compliance, and integration with control and telemetry systems.\nManage remote SCADA logins for Senior Authorised Persons, Asset managers and other responsible persons.\nCompliance with the applicable standards - IEC 62443, NIS/NIS2, IEC 61850, ISO 27001, ISO 9001/14001/45001, ISO 55000 asset management and GDPR.Control & Automation:\nImplement logic updates, mimic revisions, setpoint changes, and control sequences.\nSupport inter-trip schemes, GOOSE messaging, automation protocols, and protection interface signals.\nValidate control logic changes in coordination with the Senior HV Protection & Control Engineer.\n\nOT Network & Cybersecurity:\nMaintain secure OT networks including firewalls, VLANs, DMZs, routers, switches, and time-synchronisation systems (GPS/NTP/PTP).\nSupport NIS/NIS2, IEC 62443, and CNI cyber compliance through patching, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.\nMonitor OT network health, cyber logs, and communication performance.\n\nData Availability & Telecoms:\nEnsure high telemetry availability for Operations, outage planning, and engineering analytics.\nManage telecoms: microwave links, fibre networks, radios, and GPS-based timing infrastructure.\nSupport historian data pipelines for condition monitoring and performance analysis.\nEvent & Fault Diagnostics:\nSupport the Senior HV Protection & Control Engineer during protection-related events and system disturbances.\nContribute to technical investigations and post-fault reports requiring digital/telemetry insight.\n\nFuture Capability Development:\nEnable digital transformation (predictive analytics, OT/IT integration, digital twins).\nSupport future SCADA/OT projects in offshore wind, interconnectors, and digital engineering consultancy.\nAlign with our HV Remote Control Centre to enable secure, resilient remote SCADA monitoring - advising on enhanced cyber-secure connectivity mechanisms and supporting the delivery of the organisation’s wider digital and OT security objectives.\n\nWho are we looking for?\nYou will have strong system diagnostic and problem-solving skills and rigorous configuration control and documentation discipline.\nEffective communication across Operations, Engineering, and Cyber teams.\nThe ability to work proactively during faults or critical events and have a structured and methodical engineering approach.\nPromote safe work practices in control rooms and substations, maintain accurate configuration control and change records.\nLead by example on life saving rules and safe systems of work.
