Established in 2017, we are a family run business specialising in freshly made sandwiches, breakfasts and English and Jamaican snacks. No experience is necessary for this role, but the ideal candidate needs to be a fast learner. The shop can get busy at times so the person needs to be able to work in a fast paced and pressurised environment. It is vital that the person can use their initiative and knows how to deal with customers. You need to be proactive with a can do approach. An understanding of Caribbean cuisine is beneficial. Being a team player is also extremely important. The candidate must be able to offer flexibility in terms of hours. Duties include, but are not limited to: Customers service – taking orders from customers both face to face and over the phone Preparation of food - Making breakfasts, sandwiches, and any other food required by the customer, also preparing salad and chopping up vegetables Cleaning – including washing up, sweeping, mopping, wiping down work tops, tiles, fridges etc, cleaning equipment and appliances such as microwaves, deep fat fryers, staff toilets, front of house and any other areas that requires cleaning, re organising cupboards and shelves to ensure that all areas of the shop always look neat and tidy and general housekeeping. Deliveries and Stock – Putting away deliveries in rotation, keeping the fridge stocked, and letting manager know when stock is running low Front of house – ensuring front of house is always clean, tidy and presentable including wiping down counters and sweeping shop floor and cleaning fridges. Health and Safety – ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to including washing hands, wearing uniform, keeping health and safety records up to date, fridge temperatures, probing etc. Other adhoc duties may be required.
