Job Description JOB TITLE: PAINT PRODUCTION TECH PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Under the direction of the lead/supervisor, mask and plug customer defined features in preparation for powder coat. Load and unload product from chain drive as directed by department lead. Monitor work in process for adherence to customer specifications. Package to prevent damage and transport finished goods to shipping. All other duties assigned. CORE VALUES: The following list of Core Values and Behaviors are necessary to meet the minimum requirements: TEAMWORK • Help each other succeed, • Communicate clearly and directly, listen well, • Encourage team mates, • Honor your commitments, • Do the right thing, • Improve processes, • Open to new ideas, • Share information, and teach, • Deliver results, • Analyze data for improvement, • Take ownership and accountability, • Exhibit passion in serving customers, • Contribute solutions, • Sense of urgency, • Be the best at what you do, • Be positive, • Celebrate achievements Essential • Read and interpret customer blueprints to properly mask and plug customer identified features, • Properly use diagnostic equipment to verify coating quality, • Remove masking and plugs of production parts exiting the cure oven, • Hang and remove production parts from chain line, • Execute routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and debris free department, • Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with supervisor, lead, and co-workers, • Willing to work overtime when needed, • Maintain the responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the requirements defined in the Quality Manual, and Procedure Level documentation, • Participate actively and positively in Lean activities, • Assist in manufacturing when necessary, • Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner, • All other duties assigned REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor WORKS WITH: B & J Team Members SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by B&J Industries REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Essential • Minimum two year paint machine and operation experience, • One year powder finishing application with knowledge in, • Electrostatic charging Tribo & Corona, • Application and recovery equipment function and control, • Powder coating material chemistries & cure schedules, • Metals materials and pretreatment process, • Possess basic computer knowledge, • Good math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, • Detail oriented, • Ability to use precision measuring equipment, • Good verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills, • Ability to follow direction both written and verbal, • Manual dexterity Beneficial • High school graduate plus relevant vocational training, • Thorough knowledge of the various types of paint equipment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Lift, Twist, Kneel, Reach Above Shoulder, Climb, Push/Pull. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids). Working Environment: Production environment; Industrial ovens and miscellaneous heating equipment running continuously. High noise level, exceeding 85 Db in some areas. Exposure to dusty powder, heat with no air conditioning, and cold. This position will require drug testing per company policy. 2 Shifts Available: 2nd Shift - 12:00pm - 10:30pm (hourly wage + 5% shift differential) 3rd Shift - 8:00pm - 6:30am (hourly wage + 20% shift differential)
