We're looking for a 3rd Shift CNC Lead to take ownership of overnight machining operations, mentor fellow machinists, and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity. What You'll Do As the go-to machining expert on 3rd shift, you'll be responsible for leading production activities, supporting team members, and ensuring complex machining operations run smoothly and efficiently. Leadership & Team Development • Lead, coach, and support CNC machinists throughout the shift., • Assign work, prioritize production schedules, and monitor workflow across multiple machines and jobs., • Train team members on setup procedures, machining best practices, safety standards, and quality expectations., • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.CNC Setup & Operation, • Perform advanced setups on CNC mills and lathes, including tooling selection, fixture installation, offset adjustments, and first-piece approvals., • Operate CNC equipment to produce high-quality precision components to specification., • Monitor machine performance, tool wear, and production output to maintain efficiency and quality., • Troubleshoot machining issues and make process adjustments to minimize downtime and scrap.Quality & Process Improvement, • Interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements., • Conduct inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment., • Validate dimensional accuracy and ensure compliance with customer and engineering specifications., • Identify opportunities to improve machining processes, setup efficiency, and production flow.Operational Excellence, • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to ensure seamless operations., • Oversee routine machine checks and preventive maintenance activities., • Maintain setup sheets, training documentation, and machining procedures to support repeatable success., • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment while enforcing company safety standards.What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications, • Proven experience setting up and operating CNC mills and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment., • Previous Lead, Supervisor, or senior CNC Machinist experience., • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills., • Working knowledge of GD&T principles and applications., • Experience using precision measuring instruments, including:, • Micrometers, • Calipers, • Height gauges, • Bore gauges, • Experience with CNC controls including:, • Haas, • Okuma, • Fanuc, • Understanding of G-Code and CNC programming fundamentals., • Strong troubleshooting abilities related to tooling, fixtures, machine performance, and dimensional quality., • Excellent communication and leadership skills.Preferred Qualifications, • CNC programming experience, including creating or editing programs., • Experience using CAM software such as Mastercam., • Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms., • Experience with manual mills and manual lathes., • Experience creating training materials, setup instructions, and process documentation., • Background leading manufacturing teams in a high-volume production environment.Why Join Our Team?Competitive Benefits & Career Growth ✅ Leadership opportunity on a critical production shift ✅ Work with advanced CNC technologies and equipment ✅ Influence manufacturing processes and drive operational improvements ✅ Expand your programming, machining, and leadership skills ✅ Collaborative culture focused on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement ✅ Stable, team-oriented environment where your expertise is valued At our facility, you'll be more than just a machinist—you'll be a leader, mentor, and key contributor to operational success. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
