Job DescriptionJob Title: CNC Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on performing preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines while supporting facility maintenance as needed. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, maintain CNC controls, and help integrate and support robotic automation equipment in a modern manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines to ensure reliable and efficient operation., • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems associated with CNC equipment., • Service and maintain CNC machining centers, including 3-axis and 4-axis machines., • Support maintenance and repair of Fanuc RoboDrill vertical machining centers., • Maintain and troubleshoot Universal Robots collaborative robotic arms., • Support maintenance and troubleshooting of Fanuc industrial robots., • Replace worn components such as ball screws, linear guides, bearings, and belts to restore machine accuracy and performance., • Maintain and adjust CNC controls, including FANUC and Okuma OSP systems., • Diagnose issues related to spindles, servos, and drives, and implement effective repair solutions., • Update preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate records in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)., • Support the integration and ongoing maintenance of robotic machine-tending systems., • Assist with facility systems, including compressed air systems and electrical panels, to ensure safe and reliable operation., • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability., • Follow safety procedures and company standards while performing all maintenance activities. Essential Skills • Minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining CNC equipment, with exposure to Okuma, Nakamura, and Fanuc machines preferred., • Strong knowledge of CNC controls, including the ability to troubleshoot FANUC and Okuma OSP systems., • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and schematics., • Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems., • Ability to diagnose and resolve spindle, servo, and drive issues on CNC equipment., • Familiarity with robotics and automation systems, including collaborative and industrial robots., • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to update preventive maintenance schedules and record work performed., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex maintenance tasks., • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining equipment reliability and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience maintaining Okuma, Nakamura, and Fanuc CNC machines., • Hands-on experience with Fanuc RoboDrill vertical machining centers., • Exposure to Universal Robots collaborative robotic arms and Fanuc industrial robots., • Comfort working with automated machine-tending systems and integration projects., • Experience working in a high-precision manufacturing environment., • Willingness to learn new finishes and processes related to metalworking and polishing operations., • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and facilities., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and documentation. Work Environment The role is based in a large, three-floor manufacturing facility that maintains an extremely clean environment; end-of-shift responsibilities include cleaning your work area to uphold high housekeeping standards. The company operates as a long-standing, family-owned manufacturer with more than 65 years of history and over 200 employees, producing faucets from design through final finish for applications such as schools, hospitals, and laboratories. The facility uses CNC equipment, Fanuc RoboDrill vertical machining centers, Universal Robots collaborative arms, and Fanuc industrial robots, along with various polishing equipment and buffers. Team members work with various metals, predominantly brass (approximately 90%), and receive training on different finishes for multiple product lines. The environment combines modern automation technology with traditional metalworking processes, offering a structured, professional setting focused on safety, cleanliness, and quality. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
