Job DescriptionSalary: Starting $17.00/hr. DOE JOB PURPOSE Janitorial & Transportation Specialist ensures the efficient operation of facilities, transportation, and safety functions while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and regulations. This position supports janitorial, maintenance, vehicle operations, and safety procedures, ensuring a clean, safe, and functional environment. Specialists work alongside individuals with disabilities, ensuring they have a safe and supportive environment while assisting in facility-related activities. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Facilities & Safety • Perform routine facility inspections to identify maintenance needs, cleanliness, and safety hazards., • Conduct janitorial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and waste disposal., • Assist with setting up rooms or spaces for events or activities., • Support vehicle maintenance by completing routine inspections and tracking service schedules., • Conduct safety checks on equipment such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits., • Maintain organized records of cleaning, maintenance, and safety tasks., • Report incidents, near misses, or safety concerns to supervisors., • Operate agency vehicles to transport individuals with disabilities safely., • Ensure passengers are securely seated and properly restrained., • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, both inside and outside, and conduct basic safety checks before trips., • Follow assigned routes and schedules while ensuring timely arrivals., • Communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities to provide support and reassurance during transport., • Assist passengers in boarding and exiting vehicles as needed. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS • Must be 18 years of age., • High School Diploma or GED is required., • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any subsequent background check after employment., • Must have a valid drivers license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeurs license within 14 days of hire., • Successfully complete employment-related training as directed., • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established cleaning and maintenance protocols., • Effective communication and teamwork skills., • Ability to maintain records and use office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)., • Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with individuals with disabilities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Exposure to outdoor conditions, cleaning agents, and operational environments., • May require evening or weekend work depending on emergencies or tasks., • Ability to move around the office and attend meetings within the facility, as well as travel to offsite meetings, events, and community engagement activities. This may include walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods., • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds., • The role may require travel to other locations within a designated area.
