Project Engineer – Manufacturing Equipment & Capital Projects Location: Liberty, NC Work Type: 12 months Contract on W2 with possible extensions Pay Rate: $80–83/hour Travel: Up to 15% (primarily domestic) Overtime: Up to 25% based on project needs Job Summary We are seeking a Project Engineer to support large-scale manufacturing equipment installation and capital project execution within a fast-paced production environment. This role will focus on planning, coordinating, and executing equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and production launch activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience, technical expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to meet aggressive project timelines. Key Responsibilities • Support end-to-end execution of capital equipment projects from planning through production launch, • Coordinate equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and pre-production trials, • Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and technicians to achieve project milestones, • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking key deliverables and timelines, • Monitor and manage project budgets for assigned scope, • Support manufacturing trials to validate equipment safety, quality, and performance, • Identify and resolve issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions, • Track KPIs and support transition to full production operations, • Participate in cross-functional meetings to review project status, risks, and timelines, • Interpret and work with 2D/3D engineering drawings and technical documentation, • Ensure adherence to operational standards, including specialized production environments where applicable, • Support production during weekends, shutdowns, or critical phases as required Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, • 3–10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering, or capital project execution, • Experience managing capital equipment or facility-related projects, • Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings and layouts, • Experience with 2D/3D drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD or similar), • Strong project management and scheduling experience, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, • Ability to work in a fully onsite, hands-on environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting manufacturing line setup or production launch, • Exposure to large-scale capital investments ($500K+), • Experience working in high-volume production or advanced manufacturing environments, • Familiarity with cross-functional coordination across engineering, construction, and operations teams Work Environment • 100% onsite role in a manufacturing/production setting, • Collaborative, fast-paced, and project-driven environment, • May require extended hours, weekends, or shutdown support based on project timelines Pride Global offers eligible employee's comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
