As a Supported Residential Service Specialist (SRSS), youll be working one-on-one with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and out in the community, supporting them in learning, growing, and gaining independence in everyday life.This role is hands-on, relationship-based, and rooted in teachingnot doing things for someone, but supporting them in learning how to do it for themselves.What Youll DoYoull support one member at a time, meeting them where theyre at and helping them build skills that truly matter. • Teach and support daily living skills like cooking, cleaning, laundry, and routines, • Help with community-based skills like grocery shopping, ordering food, asking for help, and navigating real-life situations, • Support scheduling, appointments, transportation, and general day-to-day structure, • Encourage independence, confidence, and appropriate decision-making, • Build healthy communication skills, boundaries, and social awareness, • Follow individualized habilitative programs designed to build independence step-by-step, • Complete documentation in real-time using Therap (training providedwell teach you how to paint the day), • Work as part of a team while also managing your own 1:1 schedule and environmentWhat Makes This Role Different, • 1:1 support Youre not juggling a group, youre building a real connection, • You see the growth From small wins to big milestones, its right in front of you, • You work independently Youre trusted to lead your shift and your environment, • Youre teaching life skills This is habilitative, skill-building work, not just supervision, • Paid, structured training We dont expect you to know everythingwell teach youWhat You Need, • 19+ years old, • High school diploma or GED, • Valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, and insurance, • Ability to pass background checksHelpful, but not required:, • Experience in human services, caregiving, education, or related fields, • Comfort working independently and making real-time decisions, • A patient, teach-first mindset and ability to stay calm in different situationsSchedule & Work Style, • Flexible scheduling (days, evenings, weekends available), • Services take place in the home and out in the community (this is not a desk job), • Local travel throughout the Omaha area, • Active roleincludes walking, driving, and light liftingPay & Benefits, • $17$19/hourbased on experience, education, and willingness to learn, • Paid transportation time between locations, • Full-time and part-time opportunities availableWhat This Role Really IsThis is a role where you are a teacher, a supporter, an advocate, and a role model all in one.Some days look like:, • Teaching someone how to cook their first full meal, • Practicing how to order independently at a restaurant, • Working through routines and follow-through at home, • Supporting someone through a hard moment and helping them regulate
