Job DescriptionJob Title: Manufacturing Technician (Cleanroom, cGMP) Job Description This role supports technical manufacturing operations in a cleanroom environment, focusing on the preparation and execution of batch records, safe handling of chemicals, and strict adherence to cGMP standards. You will perform hands-on production activities, operate and troubleshoot process and analytical equipment, and maintain accurate documentation while working on rotating shifts. The position offers structured training, clear progression paths, and the opportunity to grow within a highly regulated, fast-paced manufacturing setting. Responsibilities • Work in a cleanroom environment while following all gowning procedures and contamination control practices., • Prepare for and execute manufacturing batch records, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) with a strong focus on safety and right-first-time execution., • Weigh, transfer, and mix chemicals accurately according to batch records and procedures., • Document all activities clearly and completely to meet current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements., • Maintain cGMP compliance in all assigned tasks and follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Complete preventative maintenance tasks and work notifications on time to ensure equipment readiness., • Perform equipment testing and conduct routine troubleshooting of process and analytical equipment., • Draft, review, and revise documents such as batch records, SOPs, and work instructions as needed., • Run in-process analytical testing as required to support production activities., • Maintain raw materials inventory using systems such as Kanban or similar inventory control methods., • Keep training records up to date and complete all required training within specified timelines., • Participate in safety inspections, continuous improvement projects, and other required site activities., • Engage in shift exchanges, one-on-one discussions, and team meetings to support effective communication and area needs., • Contribute to lean and process improvement activities to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety., • Follow shift schedules and rotating patterns as assigned, including training on night shifts and transition to second shift.Essential Skills, • Experience working in a manufacturing and/or cGMP environment is required., • Ability to function effectively in a cleanroom environment, including adherence to strict gowning and contamination control procedures., • Proficiency in executing production activities such as following batch records, work instructions, and SOPs., • Strong math skills, including rounding decimals to the tenth or hundredth, multiplying decimals, and performing unit conversions (for example, grams to liters or milliliters to liters)., • Ability to accurately weigh, transfer, and mix chemicals in accordance with written instructions., • Capability to maintain detailed and compliant documentation to meet cGMP standards., • Ability to perform basic equipment testing and routine troubleshooting of process and analytical equipment., • Comfort working in a moderate to high noise environment without the use of headphones., • Ability to remain in the core production area for extended periods, including processes that may last up to six hours without breaks., • Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and second shift, and to adapt to shift changes., • High school diploma or equivalent is required.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with aseptic technique is preferred., • Prior experience in a cleanroom production environment is highly beneficial., • Familiarity with inventory management systems such as Kanban or similar methods., • Experience running in-process analytical tests in a manufacturing or laboratory setting., • Comfort drafting, reviewing, and revising controlled documents such as SOPs and batch records., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to right-first-time execution., • Ability to participate in and support lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects., • Willingness to complete structured training on night shift (approximately 6–8 weeks) before transitioning to second shift., • Capability to follow detailed safety procedures and consistently use appropriate personal protective equipment.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a cleanroom production facility that requires full gowning, including strict restrictions such as no beards, no fake eyelashes or nails, and no nail polish or other items that could compromise product integrity. You will work with production and analytical equipment under cGMP conditions, handling chemicals and performing in-process testing. The noise level is typically moderate to high, and headphones are not allowed, so you should be comfortable maintaining focus in a busy environment. Certain processes can last up to six hours, during which the team must remain in the core area without breaks, which is important for anyone with specific dietary or medication needs. The role follows a rotating shift schedule: initial training is ideally on nights from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on 12-hour rotating shifts (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off) for about 6–8 weeks, followed by transition to second shift from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on 10-hour rotating shifts (2-2-2-3 pattern), with shift changes occurring periodically. Training may occur on days if needed, but the most hands-on experience is provided on nights. A reference video is available to give candidates a clear snapshot of the work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $27.03/hr.
