Job DescriptionDescription: Job Title: Night Shift Production Lead Reports To: Production Supervisor Classification: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive: Yes Job Type: Full-Time Supervisor Responsibilities: Yes The Night Shift Lead will be responsible for supervising the night shift production staff, comprised of CNC and Forming Operators. This role will plan, schedule, assign and monitor production tasks and output while upholding the quality standards of Fiber Pad and our customers. This role is the acting supervisor on shift and is responsible for the organization, safety and mentorship of all employees on the team. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, passion for producing quality products and a desire to lead and mentor a team that helps further the Fiber Pad mission of producing the highest quality products for their customers. This role works under established guidelines and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Works with the Production Supervisor to optimize staffing to protect efficiency ratings, achieve production targets and reduce scrap for CNC & Forming operations., • Assigns daily tasks to CNC & Forming production line team members., • Follows weekly production plan/schedule to ensure on-time delivery., • Effectively delivers and monitors training of team to ensure performance and quality metrics are met., • Ensure team members tooling and parts are staged and ready for production., • Supports efforts to reduce scrap in the manufacturing environment., • Work with team to troubleshoot/resolve issues in the CNC & Forming production line., • Work with Human Resources to support recruitment and retention efforts., • Responsible for effectively resolving employee issues, including disciplinary actions and performance evaluations, and other activities that drive retention., • Responsible for approving weekly timecards and authorizing OT as need it., • Lead, coach, and mentor team members to achieve not only production and efficiency targets but also career growth opportunities., • Lead and support safety excellence by holding team members accountable to safety and identifying safety needs and improvements., • Additional duties as needed or assigned. Requirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience in CNC manufacturing operations, • Ability to set up CNC fixtures and adjust offsets., • Knowledge of CNC conversational programming to edit or modify programs., • Ability to learn the forming process to effectively direct forming operators, resolve issues and answer questions., • Leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment., • Ability to provide instruction and leadership to other team members in a professional manner., • Production Planning/Scheduling experience a plus., • Experience with MS Office, Excel, and ERP system., Visual preferred but not required., • Advanced communication, interpersonal and presentation skills., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, understand measurements and compare product details to customer specifications., • Motivated self-starter with ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and tasks at once with interruptions., • Strong editing, proofreading and math skills., • Strong attention to detail., • Mechanical aptitude to understand and properly utilize tools with accuracy., • Technical aptitude to understand machinery within a manufacturing production environment., • Ability to interact with customers and Leadership in a professional manner., • High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality. They are responsible for the correct positioning, attachment review or the product to blueprints, operation and maintenance of hand tools. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, precise measurements and passion for producing quality products that further the Fiber Pad mission of producing the highest quality products for their customers. This role works under established guidelines and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Read and understand instructions and designs using blueprints before beginning assembly to verify parts for assembly, spacing and positioning of parts, adhesives, quantities and other necessary information., • Adhere parts utilizing glue, and bonding materials to adhere parts together, following exact specifications., • Verification of quantities and parts, quality checking parts provided by production., • Occasionally hand trim pieces that don’t meet exact specifications., • Will utilize precise measuring tools to record dimensions for Quality Control Document 26 paperwork., • Utilize various manual, pneumatic and electric hand tools to sand and smooth parts once assembled., • Read and interpret blueprints to recognize issues and verify accuracy and specifications., • Follow SOP’s for products and machinery., • Trains on quality standards to deliver quality products with focus on reducing errors and scrap., • Assists with training new operators, providing accurate demonstrations of how to perform tasks., • Adhere to safety protocols while working around materials and equipment., • Assist in all phases of housekeeping to keep the facility clean and organized to help maintain a neat and tidy work area., • One year of mechanical assembly experience required., • Demonstrated ability to use mics and calipers and other precise measurement tools., • Ability to operator manual, pneumatic and electric hand tools, sustaining noise volumes., • Ability to work in a standing position to perform most assembly tasks., • Advanced communication, interpersonal and presentation skills., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, understand measurements and compare product details to customer specifications., • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and tasks at once with interruptions., • Strong attention to detail., • Mechanical aptitude to understand and properly utilize tools with accuracy., • Technical aptitude to understand machinery within a manufacturing production environment., • Ability to interact with customers and Leadership in a professional manner., • High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality., • Ability to collaborate and work well within a team environment, and willingness to motivate and support others, supporting the Core Values of Fiber Pad.
