Job DescriptionDescription: The Senior Applications Analyst provides senior-level functional and technical leadership for clinical and operational applications within an ophthalmology medical group and associated ambulatory surgical centers. This role owns the day-to-day performance, configuration, and optimization of Nextech EHR/EMR, practice management systems, Monday.com, ASC platforms, and integrated third-party applications, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows, revenue cycle operations, and regulatory requirements. The Senior Applications Analyst leads complex troubleshooting, system enhancements, upgrades, and implementations; partners with clinical, operational, and IT leadership; and drives continuous improvement across application platforms. Occasional on-site support may be required. Requirements: OPERATIONS AND SUPPORT • Serve as the senior subject matter expert and application owner for Nextech, Monday.com, and ASC-related systems., • Lead advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and vendor escalation for complex or high-impact issues., • Design, configure, and optimize clinical, surgical, and operational workflows, templates, security, and system settings., • Lead application upgrades, enhancements, and new functionality rollouts, including testing, validation, and change management., • Participate in and influence application governance, prioritization, and change review processes., • Leadership role on the Acuity Eye Group EHR Change Review Board., • Lead or support application implementations, integrations, workflow automations, and data migration efforts., • Provide reporting guidance, data validation, and insight to support operational, clinical, and financial decision-making., • Ensure applications meet HIPAA, security, and regulatory requirements., • Partner with clinical, revenue cycle, and operational leaders to identify system improvements and translate business needs into technical solutions., • Provide mentorship, knowledge sharing, and escalation support to junior analysts or support staff., • Communicate risks, priorities, timelines, and outcomes clearly to leadership and stakeholders., • Consult with IT management on problems found and possible solutions. Carry out IT security policies and report security problems to IT management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications to our network., • Assist with the review of technical documentation supporting the EMR system, identify items that impact business processes, and applicable configuration elements., • Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policies. REQUIRED: • Any combination totaling 5+ years of experience supporting healthcare clinical and/or business applications., • Demonstrated experience leading or owning application support, optimization, or implementations., • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, preferably in ophthalmology or surgical settings., • Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and partner with clinical and operational leadership., • College coursework in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Healthcare Management, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:, • 60 semester hours or an associate degree equals one year, • 90 semester hours equals two years, • Experience in ophthalmology and/or ambulatory surgical center (ASC) environments., • Experience with Ophthalmic and Optometric Practice Management Solutions and EHRs, including Netxtech, Eyefinity / AcuityLogic Software, and SIS Complete, is a plus, • Experience implementing and administering Monday.com, • CompTia Net+, A+ Certification, • Microsoft MCSE / MCP, • PMP, • Results-oriented (Energetic self-starter; sets realistic goals; meets commitments; persistent, prioritizes daily to achieve results)., • Customer Service Advocate (flexible and adaptive; empathetic; passionate; ethical)., • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, staff, vendors, or other members of the community., • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems., • Skilled in determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes., • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions., • Basic understanding of network services such as DHCP & DNS, and how to troubleshoot related problems, • Ability to draw valid conclusions, apply sound judgment in making decisions, and the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. • This is an in-office hybrid work classification with possible remote work options and intermittent travel to field locations. Travel may be required outside your assigned region. Staff office location is in Santa Ana, CA. Temperature conditions are controlled with limited direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
