Job Description Job Title: Senior Solutions Architect – Managed Services / IT Technology Reports To: Director of Sales Engineering / VP of Sales / CRO Job Summary The IT Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technology solutions that align with business goals and technical standards. This role bridges business requirements and technical execution by translating stakeholder needs into scalable, secure, and cost-effective IT architecture. The Solutions Architect works closely with business leaders, project managers, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure successful solution delivery across applications, data, infrastructure, and integration layers. Key Responsibilities Solution Design & Architecture • Design end-to-end IT solutions that meet functional, technical, security, and performance requirements., • Develop architecture diagrams, solution blueprints, and technical documentation., • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, best practices, and long-term IT strategy., • Evaluate trade-offs between build vs. buy, cloud vs. on-premises, and short-term vs. long-term solutions. Stakeholder Collaboration • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, constraints, and success criteria., • Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and solution designs., • Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Pre-Sales & Customer-Facing Engagement • Act as a technical advisor during pre-sales engagements, customer meetings, and solution workshops., • Present solution architectures, value propositions, and technical capabilities to customers and prospects., • Support sales teams in qualifying opportunities, defining scope, and aligning solutions with customer business outcomes., • Participate in RFP, RFQ, and proposal responses, including technical narratives and presentations., • Serve as a trusted technical point of contact throughout the sales cycle and transition to delivery teams. Technology & Platform Expertise • Select appropriate technologies, CCTV and Access Control Systems,, • Technology platforms (cloud, infrastructure, applications, data, integration)., • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements., • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovations that add business value. Quoting, Estimation & Commercial Support • Develop detailed solution quotes, cost models, and bills of materials (BOMs) covering hardware, software, cloud services, licensing, and professional services., • Produce accurate effort estimates, implementation timelines, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses., • Support sales, pre-sales, and procurement teams with technical input for proposals, RFPs, RFQs, and SOWs., • Validate vendor pricing, licensing models, and subscription terms to ensure cost efficiency and compliance., • Identify cost optimization opportunities and clearly communicate assumptions, risks, and exclusions within quotes. Implementation & Delivery Support • Review solution designs and code for quality, scalability, performance, and security., • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide root-cause analysis when assistance is required Governance & Standards • Enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices., • Able to participate in architecture review boards and design governance processes., • Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained.________________________________________ Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)., • 5–10+ years of experience in IT, including experience in solution or systems architecture., • Strong understanding of application architecture, infrastructure, networking, and data concepts., • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions., • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Technical Skills (Typical) • Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), • Integration technologies (REST, SOAP, messaging, middleware), • CCTV & Access Control Systems, • DAS Systems and RF Engineering Solutions (Motorola Radios, Public Safey Systems), • Data networking design (LAN/WAN, routing & switching, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, VPNs, QoS), • Network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation), • Security principles (identity, access management, encryption, compliance), • DevOps and CI/CD practices, • Infrastructure concepts (servers, storage, networking, virtualization), • Managed Services architectures (monitoring, SLAs, ITSM, incident/problem/change management) Preferred Qualifications • Architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, Google Cloud Architect)., • Experience with industry-specific systems (e.g., healthcare, finance, telecom, manufacturing)., • Experience with Agile and DevOps delivery models., • Prior experience in consulting or customer-facing role.
