Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Impact Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing collaborative efforts in literacy, career readiness, and economic mobility. Using the principles of collective impact (as defined here: ), the Impact Manager will set the agenda and facilitate partner meetings, ensure alignment on shared goals, implement project activities, manage effective communication, develop and maintain strong relationships with organizational partners and community members, leverage resources, utilize data for continuous improvement, and provide supervision for interns and volunteers. United Way of San Diego County (UWSD) is an organization that is fast-paced and has dedicated staff. UWSD leverages the use of data and our partners' expertise to better understand root causes and put impactful solutions into action. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION: • Facilitate the development of goals, action plans, deliverables, and metrics related to program;, • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports;, • Facilitate meetings and training opportunities both virtually and in-person, as appropriate;, • Make connections with local service providers;, • Build programmatic capacity to serve identified families;, • Manage relationships between school/ after-school enrichment staff, non-profit partners, universities, County Health and Human Services Agency, County Office of Education, K-12 Districts, child care providers, and others;, • Use principles of continuous improvement to improve and refine strategies including school district and programmatic data; must be able to use qualitative and quantitative data to inform programmatic adjustments;, • Utilize local and national networks and best practice tools to directly support Collaborative Action Networks;, • Support with grant management, including sub monitoring, invoicing, and reporting;, • Communicate effectively orally and in writing;, • Partner with other UWSD departments as appropriate; and, • Project Development and Implementation, • Results-Driven, • Relationship Oriented, • Collaborator, • Deep Community Expertise, • Adaptability and Change Management, • Continuous Learning, • Cross-Functional Capability and Collaboration, • Post-secondary credential in education, human development, behavioral health, public health, social work, community development, or related field – or equivalent experience;, • Minimum 3 years in comparable position;, • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively and follow-through;, • Demonstrated ability to facilitate group process and decision-making;, • Demonstrated strong communication and people skills, including public speaking and report writing;, • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects and achieve outcomes;, • Demonstrated ability to research topics, assimilate data and report on findings, verbally and in written form., • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise tact and good judgment;, • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office package (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint);, • Valid California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record. The amount of time spent working in-person is currently limited, but is subject to change, and strictly adheres to COVID-19 guidelines put forth by the state, county, and the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA). The typical schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, flexibility is required due to the nature of this work. Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
