Junior IT Support & Field Technician \n Location: North Richland Hills, TX, with travel to other company locations as needed \n Reports To: IT Network & Systems Administrator & Director of Technology | Full-time, on-site, \n \n Note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. \n \n Overview \n Cocanougher Asset Management, LLC is seeking a Junior IT Support & Field Technician to provide hands-on technology support across multiple company locations. This role is focused on day-to-day user support, workstation setup, printer/scanner troubleshooting, basic network troubleshooting, documentation, inventory, and on-site support when needed. \n This role starts as a Level 1 hands-on support position. Over time, it may grow into broader IT support/admin backup coverage as the employee learns the environment, demonstrates independence, and gains trust with routine IT responsibilities. \n The ideal candidate can take a vague issue, ask good questions, research possible causes, try safe troubleshooting steps, communicate clearly with users, document what they found, and escalate with useful details when needed. \n \n Key Responsibilities User Support & Day-to-Day Troubleshooting \n · Provide hands-on and remote support for employees across company locations. \n · Troubleshoot Windows computers, Macs, monitors, docks, keyboards, mice, webcams, headsets, tablets, phones, printers, scanners, email, and common business applications. \n · Assist users with Outlook, Gmail, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other basic productivity tools. \n · Help with password, MFA, login, access, and account-related issues using approved procedures. \n · Research unfamiliar technical issues using documentation, vendor articles, Google, AI tools, testing, and prior notes before escalating. \n · Escalate issues with clear notes, troubleshooting steps taken, screenshots/errors if applicable, and relevant details. \n \n Workstation, Hardware & Device Support \n · Prepare, provision, configure, and deploy computers for new and existing employees. \n · Assist with new hire setups, equipment moves, hardware swaps, and device replacements. \n · Install and troubleshoot software, drivers, printers, scanners, peripherals, and basic business applications. \n · Support tablets, iPads, desk phones, conference room equipment, and other business technology. \n · Help maintain inventory of laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, phones, tablets, network devices, and spare equipment. \n · Assist with equipment cleanup, labeling, organization, and lifecycle tracking. \n \n Field Support & Basic Network Troubleshooting \n · Travel to other company locations when issues cannot be resolved remotely. \n · Provide hands-on troubleshooting for workstations, printers, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, POS devices, phones, tablets, and basic network equipment. \n · Check physical connections, power, cabling, network ports, device status, and on-site conditions. \n · Troubleshoot basic internet, Wi-Fi, LAN, DNS, DHCP, IP address, and device connectivity issues. \n · Run, trace, organize, and label Ethernet cabling when needed. \n · Escalate larger network, firewall, VLAN, routing, ISP, or infrastructure issues to senior IT staff. \n \n \n Documentation & Process Support \n · Document issues, fixes, recurring problems, and troubleshooting steps. \n · Help create and maintain simple how-to guides, checklists, inventory records, and site documentation. \n · Track assigned tasks and provide updates until completion. \n · Follow existing procedures where available and help improve documentation where gaps exist. \n \n Qualifications \n · 1-3 years of hands-on IT support, desktop support, helpdesk, field technician, MSP support, or similar experience preferred. \n · Experience supporting Windows computers, Macs, printers, scanners, monitors, peripherals, phones, tablets, and general business technology. \n · Experience provisioning, configuring, deploying, and replacing computers for new and existing employees. \n · Basic networking knowledge, including Wi-Fi, LAN, DNS, DHCP, IP addresses, cabling, internet connectivity, and general network troubleshooting. \n · Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune, remote support tools, and endpoint support is preferred. \n · Familiarity with VoIP phones or business phone systems is a plus. \n · Familiarity with UniFi/Ubiquiti network equipment is a plus. \n · Familiarity with POS devices is a plus, especially understanding how they connect to the network, printers, tablets, or payment terminals. Deep POS software knowledge is not required. \n · Comfortable with physical IT work such as checking ports, running Ethernet cables, tracing connections, organizing equipment, and troubleshooting hardware. \n · Strong research and troubleshooting skills. Must be comfortable using documentation, vendor articles, Google, AI tools, and testing to work through unfamiliar issues before escalating. \n · Good verbal and written communication skills, especially with non-technical users. \n · Able to work independently after receiving direction and escalate with clear notes when needed. \n · Willingness to travel to other company locations as needed, including locations up to two hours away. \n · High school diploma required; associate degree or certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Google, or similar are a plus. \n \n What This Role Is \n This is a hands-on IT support role focused on helping users, fixing day-to-day technology issues, setting up workstations, supporting printers/scanners/peripherals, assisting with basic network connectivity issues, documenting work, maintaining inventory, and traveling to company locations when hands-on support is needed. \n What This Role Is Not \n This is not primarily a cybersecurity analyst, cloud engineer, software developer, network architect, or systems architect role. Higher-level infrastructure, security, cloud, firewall, Intune, Conditional Access, and major system changes are handled by senior IT leadership, though this role may assist and learn over time.
