Job Description Shipping and Receiving Clerk - Naperville, IL 8AM-5PM MONDAY-FRIDAY $22/hr+ Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk oversees day-to-day warehousing and inventory management activities, ensuring accurate material receipt, storage, and distribution for project and lab operations. This role manages both domestic and international shipping, supports customs and brokerage coordination, and maintains precise inventory records using specialized software systems. Responsibilities • Receive incoming materials and verify quantities against purchase orders using Coupa software., • Unpack, count, and store materials in designated storage locations, ensuring proper labeling and organization., • Distribute material samples to team members as needed to support project and lab activities., • Maintain accurate stock levels and inventory records using Sortly inventory software, including revision control., • Administer and maintain the Sortly inventory system for the PoC labs, ensuring data integrity and up-to-date records., • Manage project-related shipping for PoC materials and equipment, including packing, crating, and preparing customs documentation., • Ship raw materials from PoC stock to external vendors in a timely and accurate manner., • Support and lead warehouse organization efforts to ensure efficient layout and timely material access for projects., • Prepare, kit, and issue materials from the warehouse to the PoC lab according to project requirements., • Manage the return-to-stock process for materials coming back from the PoC lab, ensuring proper inspection, documentation, and restocking., • Track inbound shipments provided by the procurement team and coordinate with inventory clerks for efficient material intake., • Monitor and help resolve customs clearance challenges to ensure timely delivery of imported parts and materials., • Coordinate with the broker team to confirm imported parts are correctly listed in the customs database and ready for clearance., • Communicate proactively with shippers to resolve logistics issues and keep stakeholders informed of shipment status., • Arrange and manage expedited shipments through the broker, including international shipping when required., • Support inventory control activities such as cycle counts and data entry to maintain accurate inventory records., • Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading, to ensure compliance and accuracy., • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving in a warehouse or manufacturing environment., • Proficiency in warehousing and inventory management practices, including stock control and material handling., • Ability to verify incoming material counts against purchase orders using Coupa or similar procurement software., • Experience using inventory control tools such as Sortly or comparable inventory management systems, including revision control., • Knowledge of shipping processes, including preparation of packing lists, bills of lading, and customs documentation., • Experience with international shipping and coordination with brokers and customs for imported and exported materials., • Ability to perform inventory control tasks, including data entry and cycle counts, with a high degree of accuracy., • Familiarity with SAP and cycle counting processes for inventory management., • Capability to communicate clearly with procurement, brokers, shippers, and internal teams to resolve logistics issues., • Experience administering or maintaining inventory systems for lab or cleanroom environments., • Experience in managing project-related shipments for technical or lab equipment., • Understanding of customs clearance processes and working with broker teams to ensure timely clearance., • Comfort working with multiple software tools for procurement, inventory control, and logistics tracking., • Strong organizational skills to maintain a well-structured warehouse and support efficient material flow., • Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation, labeling, and record-keeping. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
