Join us and take the next step in your career with a company that values your growth and success. - Click for real life examples of our employee’s experiences Position Summary – Part-Time Semi Driver Location: Based in Illinois, servicing all American Sale retail locations throughout IL and IN American Sale is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Part-Time Semi Driver to support operations across our eight retail locations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the local transport of goods and materials between stores, warehouses, and vendors. This position is ideal for an experienced CDL-A driver who values teamwork, professionalism, and a consistent schedule without long-haul demands. Key Responsibilities: • Safely operate a semi-truck to pick up and deliver goods across multiple retail locations (IL and IN), • Verify and inspect loads for accuracy and securement, • Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, maintaining timely schedules, • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, reporting any vehicle defects, • Ensure compliance with all FMCSA regulations and state DOT laws (Illinois & Indiana), • Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery records, • Adhere to company safety standards, policies, and procedures, • Provide support to warehouse operations during delivery downtime, • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) with clean driving record, • (must meet Illinois and Indiana DOT requirements for intrastate and interstate driving), • Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience operating a semi-truck, • Familiarity with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and basic routing software, • Strong understanding of FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) rules, • Ability to adapt to variable traffic, weather, and delivery conditions, • Able to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs; must be comfortable with light warehouse work, • Paid Time Off (PTO), • Steady schedule with local/regional driving – no overnight routes, • Opportunities for growth and advancement within a supportive, team-focused culture, • Employee discount on seasonal and recreational products American Sale ensures full compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines and state-level regulations in both Illinois and Indiana, including: • Annual DOT physicals and medical certification, • Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing (49 CFR Part 382), • Driver Qualification File (DQF) maintenance Schedule & Availability At American Sale, our unwavering mission is to enrich the lives of our customers by providing products that enhance their everyday experiences.
