Job Description Summary: * The Quality Control Technician ensures product quality and process accuracy across the production lifecycle by overseeing inspection processes, managing office workflows, and ensuring precise order fulfillment. This role focuses on coordinating quality control activities, analyzing data, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to uphold industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM) in processes like extrusion, casting, machining, and light assembly. Working primarily in an office environment, the technician leverages digital systems to streamline workflows, verify order accuracy, and drive continuous improvement while minimizing defects and ensuring compliance. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues, optimize office workflows, and ensure accurate order processing; communicate findings to supervisors and lead root cause analysis for defects or process inaccuracies., • Oversee inspection of incoming raw materials (e.g., metals, alloys, components) by reviewing inspection reports to confirm compliance with specifications and safety requirements; verify order details (e.g., material type, quantity, specifications) against purchase orders to ensure accuracy before approving or rejecting materials., • Monitor production stages (e.g., metal extrusion, casting, machining, light assembly) by analyzing inspection data to ensure process accuracy (e.g., uniform dimensions, tolerances, surface quality); validate that production outputs align with order requirements and customer specifications., • Review and validate test results for finished metal goods to ensure compliance with blueprints and order specifications; confirm accuracy of product quantities, configurations, and packaging details through data from destructive or non-destructive testing (e.g., dimensional accuracy, material properties) before shipment., • Identify and address quality issues, order discrepancies, or process deviations (e.g., material imperfections, incorrect tolerances, or misaligned assembly); initiate corrective actions, quarantine defective items, and recommend process adjustments to enhance accuracy and efficiency., • Ensure all materials, products, and orders comply with internal quality policies, regulatory requirements (e.g., domestic manufacturing standards), and industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM); prepare documentation for audits and support certification processes., • Streamline office workflows by developing and maintaining standardized quality control processes, including digital checklists, SOPs, and work instructions, to ensure consistent order accuracy and process execution across departments., • Maintain and analyze detailed quality and order records using digital quality management systems; document inspection results, measurements, defects, and order fulfillment data; generate reports for traceability, audits, and continuous improvement; identify trends in non-conformances or order errors to recommend preventive measures., • Oversee calibration and maintenance schedules for inspection tools to ensure measurement accuracy; verify that safety and quality protocols are documented and followed during material handling and testing., • Coordinate with supply chain and sales teams to verify order accuracy (e.g., part numbers, quantities, delivery schedules) and resolve discrepancies before production or shipment; ensure alignment between customer orders and production outputs. Must Haves: • Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage cross-departmental workflows with production, engineering, and supply chain teams., • Strong organizational skills to streamline office workflows and ensure accurate order processing., • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and order documentation., • Strong knowledge of metals, alloys, common manufacturing defects, and order fulfillment processes., • Advanced skills in data recording, trend analysis, and reporting using quality management and order tracking software., • Experience conducting root cause analysis for quality issues, order discrepancies, or process inaccuracies; familiarity with quality audits., • Familiarity with ISO, ASTM, and domestic manufacturing standards., • Proficient in reviewing and interpreting data from precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, hardness testers) to ensure process accuracy., • Ability to manage tool calibration schedules and maintain compliance with maintenance protocols. Education and Experience: • Required: 2+ years’ experience in quality control, quality assurance, or inspection oversight in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to order processing or workflow management., • Preferred: Experience in metal goods production processes (extrusion, casting, machining, or assembly) and familiarity with digital quality and order management systems., • Demonstrated record of working with ISO/ASTM compliance, quality documentation, and order accuracy protocols., • Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician, NDT Level I/II) (preferred). Physical Requirements: • Ability to work in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
