Job Summary: The High School Teacher – Chemistry / Physics is responsible for providing an engaging and effective learning environment for students. The teacher will plan, implement, and evaluate lessons in chemistry and physics to ensure students achieve academic success and develop critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. The teacher will provide professional instruction grounded in scientific principles while integrating Biblical principles and a Christian worldview. In addition to delivering content, the teacher will foster student growth, contribute to a positive school culture, and collaborate with staff, parents, and administrators to support student success Instructional Responsibilities • Plan, develop, and deliver chemistry and physics lessons aligned with curriculum standards and school expectations., • Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the needs of students, including differentiated instruction, inquiry-based learning, laboratory experiments, technology integration, and hands-on activities., • Encourage active student participation and scientific reasoning through discussions, problem-solving activities, labs, and collaborative group work., • Assess student performance using formal and informal assessments (tests, quizzes, labs, projects, presentations) to monitor progress and adjust instruction as necessary., • Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior, creating a respectful, safe, and positive learning environment., • Implement effective classroom and laboratory management strategies to ensure a productive and safe learning environment for all students., • Provide academic support and mentorship to students, helping them set goals and develop strong study habits., • Recognize and celebrate student achievements, both academically and personally., • Identify students needing additional help and provide extra support or refer them to appropriate resources, such as tutoring or counseling services., • Collaborate with colleagues in subject-specific teams, interdisciplinary groups, and school-wide committees to ensure a consistent and integrated learning experience for all students., • Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education into chemistry and physics instruction., • Develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and school expectations., • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, laboratory work, and assessments., • Prepare and submit reports, progress reports, and other documentation in a timely manner or as directed by the high school principal., • Participate in school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and extracurricular activities as needed., • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments., • Prepare and submit reports, progress reports, and other documentation in a timely manner or as directed by the High School Principal., • Participate in school meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and extracurricular activities as needed., • Follow all school policies and procedures, including those related to safety and discipline.Requirements:, • Have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ., • Cooperate and comply with the Hope Christian School administration with implementing all policies, procedures and directives governing the operation of the school., • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Physics, Science Education, or a related field.
