Job Description Research Scientist/Study Director Ocular Description: We are seeking to find an accomplished Ocular Scientist with requirements of a broad knowledge of Ocular anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry to help develop and support in vivo models to screen small molecule, cell/gene therapy, as well as large molecule therapeutics and devices being developed for various ocular disorders. Respite services are designed to provide a break to parents/family members and caretakers of adults and children with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. Respite staff provide care and support to meet the needs identified by the family members and caretakers. Generally, Respite staff provide supervision to their clients, as well as providing meals, medication, or other assistance as needed. ACT does not provide nursing support or medical care to its clients. ACT requires that applicants have prior experience working with developmental disabilities, or have provided a sufficient amount of care in a relatable position, such as working in the nursing field as stated above, or experience with special education or in-home care as well. While Respite Services are not designed to address behavior management, we do occasionally come across clients who have behavioral outbursts. Experience in providing redirection and de-escalation is always preferable. Any relatable education will also be considered, in lieu of professional experience. Respite services are provided on a case by case basis. The hours per case are determined by the contracts set by the San Diego Regional Center.
