Job DescriptionDescription: Kitchen Assistant – Local Private Estate A local private estate is seeking a highly organized, service-minded Kitchen Assistant to support the daily operations of a luxury residential kitchen. This role works closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure seamless meal service, impeccable presentation, and an orderly, well-maintained culinary environment. About the Role The Kitchen Assistant plays a key part in supporting meal preparation logistics, table settings, tea service, dish care, and pantry coordination. This position requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality service in a principal-facing environment. Key ResponsibilitiesMeal Service Support • Perform daily setup and teardown for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service., • Set formal and informal place settings, including dishware, flatware, silver, pewter, and glassware., • Prepare table components such as napkins, carafes, condiments, serveware, and trays., • Reset and tidy dining and service areas after each meal.Tea Service Preparation, • Prepare daily tea service, including trays, teacups, accompaniments, and small bites., • Ensure timing and presentation align with household expectations.Dish Care & Presentation, • Wash, dry, and restock all dishware and service items., • Maintain silver, pewter, and delicate glassware through proper handling and polishing techniques., • Organize and store dishware with attention to order, accessibility, and rotation.Pantry & Supply Coordination, • Assist with weekly grocery shopping and household errands., • Monitor, restock, and organize pantry staples, beverages, and tea/coffee stations., • Unpack, rotate, and store incoming groceries and supplies.Cross-Training & Event Support, • Assist with basic food prep (washing produce, portioning, light prep tasks)., • Support larger prep days, events, and formal dinners as directed by the chefs., • Provide additional support as requested by the principals or estate leadership.Qualifications, • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work professionally with staff and principals., • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods., • Comfortable navigating stairs, hot surfaces, and breakable items safely., • Reliable attendance and ability to work flexible hours when needed.
