Job DescriptionSalary: Position Summary/Purpose Provide support to management in all functions of human resources by administering defined programs and procedures. Support company needs throughout the employee life cycle, with a special focus on recruiting and hiring, onboarding, and training and development. Work closely with all members of the management team to implement policies that reinforce the core values and culture of the organization. Promote the mission, vision, and core values of the organization. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Human Resources Team • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems., • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals., • Recommend new approaches, technology, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed., • Assist managers in timely execution of performance assessment, employee development plans, and training programs., • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database., • Maintain current company organizational charts and employee directory., • Propose and implement technology related to human resources and organizational development., • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars., • Work within established budgets for Human Resources initiatives, training programs, and employee engagement events. Track actual spend compared to budget., • Administer compensation program; monitor performance evaluation program, provide support and revise as necessary., • Understand HR resources made available by Servpro Industries through Servpronet and other means. Recruiting and Employee Life Cycle Management • Work with company managers to determine hiring needs, • Establish and implement a recruiting strategy, • Develop talent pipelines with higher education, trade schools and community partners. Define, create, and execute the communications strategy and branding for recruitment and talent acquisition, providing an exciting and accurate preview to candidates., • Support all company functions in recruiting and hiring new employees including posting targeted job opportunities, screening resumes and applications, conducting phone or in-person interviews, extending offers, performing background screenings and other pre-employment testing., • Conducts recruitment effort for exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations, monitors career path program, places advertisements per recruiting plan., • Maintain records, reports, and logs pertaining to applicant flow procedures., • Analyze the impact of robust onboarding, assessments, training, and other employee engagement efforts on retention. Training and Development • Guide new hires through the onboarding and new hire training process, making sure that employees feel welcomed, informed about their benefits, and prepared to excel in their roles., • Identify opportunities for improvement to onboarding process and make recommendations. Implement improvements as appropriate., • Work with managers to implement training plan(s) using the learning management system (Servpro U), as well as other Servpro sources or external training sources. Ensure successful course registration, completion, and transcript documentation., • Administer and track mentoring program., • Provide performance management tools and guidance to management team., • Administer policies and procedures for, and assist managers in timely execution of, performance assessment, employee development plans, and training programs., • Prepare and work with managers to administer performance evaluation programs to promote career path opportunities and employee retention., • Track compliance with safety programs and policies that comply with all federal (e.g. OSHA), state and local regulations. Implement programs consistently throughout the business. Maintain and update the organizations Safety Manual. Employee Engagement • Plan team building events in each local market., • Plan quarterly employee meetings and other company meetings and events., • Help ensure an equitable and inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and can thrive through communication, training, and coaching., • Foster employee engagement by selecting and curating engaging content on company intranet., • Promote adoption of Microsoft Teams, BambooHR, and other company technology platforms., • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems., • Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing. Identify trends in employee feedback, summarize and report to management team. Benefit and Policy Administration • Coordinate and assist with all terminations, layoffs, and leaves of absence., • Submit and track all Workers Compensation claims and related compliance requirements., • Administer all employee benefit programs, maintain and update employee files and interface with payroll process as needed., • Administer benefit policies as needed, including paid and unpaid time off, insurance, referral bonuses, workplace flexibility, and other available benefits., • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures and company benefits., • Respond to inquiries regarding former employees, including unemployment, employment verification, etc. Payroll Administration • Gather employee time sheets, leave requests, and other relevant payroll information., • Enter employee hours and deductions into the payroll system., • Calculate gross pay, taxes (federal, state, local), health insurance deductions, retirement contributions, and other deductions., • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and files., • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local payroll regulations., • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and relevant agencies., • Verify payroll data accuracy by reconciling time sheets with payroll calculations., • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and address any discrepancies. Additional Duties and Responsibilities • Assist managers and employees with performance and discipline issues as needed., • Attend weekly meetings., • Network with professionals in similar positions., • Attend meetings, seminars, trade shows, and industry organizations pertinent to job responsibilities., • Develop restoration industry acumen., • Remain up to date on relevant changes to labor laws and HR industry trends Decision Rights and Authority • Purchases within the established budget., • Screen applicants for specific positions based on established criteria. Working Relationships and Scope • Work with employees to administer policies and answer questions, • Work with managers responsible for all company functions to support personnel planning related to capacity and hiring, discipline and terminations, retirements or extended absences, and training and development., • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with external advisors and other professionals., • Maintain strong working relationships with appropriate insurance industry, trade association, training provider, supplier, and community contacts., • Maintain timely communication and flow of information with all departments, executives, and managers.
