Bosch Building Technologies Integrator Business The regional system integration business called Bosch Building Technologies offers solutions and customized services for building security, energy efficiency, and building automation for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects Bosch started its Integrator Business in North America through the acquisition of Climatec in 2015. Climatec expanded Bosch’s role as a comprehensive supplier of energy, building automation and security solutions. Climatec is recognized in the building industry as an independent single-source integrator of critical building systems including energy services, building automation and security & life safety in the U.S. market. The company provides consulting, planning, implementation and 24/7 remote management. Climatec is active in several market segments and industries including data centers, commercial real estate buildings, and federal, state, and local government. Climatec has operated as an independent entity, maintaining its offices in Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, New York, and New Jersey. Climatec continues to represent and integrate numerous leading manufactures’ product lines across its wide range of services, including Bosch products. In 2023, Bosch acquired Canadian-based security integrator Paladin Technologies. Merging Paladin Technologies and Climatec will significantly expand Bosch’s Integrator Business in North America. Today the combined entity of Bosch Building Technologies (previously Climatec and Paladin Technologies) represents over $800M in revenues and 2800 associates. Utilizing the strengths of both companies, Bosch offers its customers a complete portfolio of networked and efficient energy, building automation and security solutions. Job Summary: As an Estimator, your main responsibility will be to maximize the award of profitable contracts by leading estimating and bid administration activities. You will work closely with the Sales, Design, and Project Management team to ensure that our customers are provided with the highest quality service. Ideal candidates will represent Bosch in a professional manner that aligns with our values of leadership mindset, people development, team, and client-focused. A typical day could see you responding to an RFP, holding client meetings, working with project teams during installation, or planning for the closeout of a project. Responsibilities • Prepare cost budgets based on drawings, specifications, and other relevant materials, • Work closely with Engineering, Sales, and PMO to develop cost estimates for labor and logistics and detailed BOM, • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents, • Compute and communicate costs through analysis of labor, material, and time requirements, • Engage subcontractors to augment Paladin’s areas of expertise to provide a complete solution, • Obtain best product prices from manufacturers, distributors, and subcontractors, • Maintaining technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing networks, • A minimum of three years of design experience in the information technology and integrated security systems., • A strong understanding of the physical security and/or IT industries, including an awareness of complimentary products, technologies, trends, and the general application of physical security technology, • An understanding of and experience with fundamental concepts pertaining to IP networks, low voltage electronics, power, and communications., • Ability to create and edit design drawings, spread sheets, program sheets and projects handover documentation., • A strong command of the English language supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills, • The ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and projects and be responsive to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, • Previous and progressive experience as an Estimator in the low voltage industry with demonstrated success completing complicated estimates/designs involving access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, IP networks, intercom, duress, and/or structured cabling., • Experience estimating projects worth between $250K-$500K or larger, • Experience working with some or all the following systems is preferred:, • Access Control - LenelS2, Software House, Avigilon, Kantech, Genetec, AMAG, RBH, • CCTV – Milestone, Avigilon, Genetec,, • Intrusion – Bosch, DSC, DMP, Senstar, Southwest Microwave,, • Network Switching – Cisco, Ruckus, HPE,, • RTLS – Actall, Guard RFID,, • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) – Schneider, Omron, • Structured cabling - Belden, CommScope, Corning, Panduit, • Door Hardware - any- considered assets, • Experience in a technical sales role or system design would be considered an asset., • Strong computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mac OS, and project / quoting software, • Post-secondary education in electronics, electrical, or equivalent would be considered an asset In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. • Must be able to effectively communicate, (i.e., see, hear, speak, and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated.
