Job Description Summary We are seeking a passionate, full-time Preschool Lead Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year, working with a class of 4-5 year old children who were eligible for kindergarten but are spending an extra year in preschool. The ideal candidate would be an enthusiastic and nurturing educator with knowledge of child development who views themselves as a lifelong learner, is eager to collaborate with co-teachers and engage meaningfully with children and their families. The ideal candidate would have experience working with young children in an early childhood setting, strong behavior and classroom management skills, and the ability to develop engaging play-based lesson plans whose personal pedagogy aligns with that of the school. Duties Responsibilities Overview: • Develop and implement age-appropriate play-based lesson plans that ensure kindergarten readiness, • Manage classroom behavior effectively, • Engage with students through a variety of interactive activities, • Assess and document student progress throughout the school year, • Meet with parents to discuss student progress, • Communicate effectively with families, • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment for all children, • Attend collaborative staff meetings, • Participate in professional development, • Complete 15 hours of OCFS training per year Requirements Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required, • Formal training in Special Educationpreferred, • Master’s Degreepreferred, • Minimum of 2 years of preschool teaching experience (lead teacher), • Experience with CPSE and CSE meetings, • Ability to understand and implement IEP accommodations in the classroom, • Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices Benefits Benefits: • Employee discount, • Health insurance, • Paid time off, • Professional development assistance, • Retirement plan, • Tuition reimbursement
