Process Engineer - Computer Server Manufacturing

Job Description Job Summary The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes for computer server assembly, integration, testing, and packaging operations. This role ensures efficient production flow, high product quality, capacity achievement, and continuous improvement while supporting new product introduction (NPI), process standardization, and factory readiness. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Process Development • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for computer server assembly, sub-assembly, rack integration, system configuration, testing, burn-in, and packaging, • Create and release manufacturing documentation including:, • SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), • Work Instructions (WI), • Process Flow Charts, • PFMEA, • Control Plans, • Visual Work Instructions, • Process parameter sheets, • Define process sequence, workstation requirements, tooling, and operator methods Production Line Setup & Optimization • Design and implement efficient production line layouts for:, • Chassis assembly, • Motherboard/CPU installation, • Memory installation, • Storage installation (SSD/HDD), • Cable routing and dressing, • Rack assembly, • System power-on, • BIOS/Firmware flashing, • Functional testing, • Burn-in testing, • Packaging, • Balance production lines to achieve UPH (Units Per Hour) and capacity targets, • Optimize manpower allocation and workstation utilization, • Improve line efficiency, takt time, and bottleneck performance New Product Introduction (NPI) • Support transfer of new server products from engineering to manufacturing, • Participate in:, • DVT / PVT / Pilot builds, • Golden sample builds, • Process validation, • Trial production runs, • Develop replication plans for product transfer between factories, • Coordinate engineering change implementation (ECO/ECN) Testing & Validation • Define manufacturing test strategies for:, • Functional test, • POST validation, • BIOS verification, • Network port validation, • Storage verification, • Thermal test, • Burn-in, • Liquid cooling leak test (if applicable), • Work with test engineering to improve test coverage and reduce failures, • Drive yield improvement and false failure reduction Continuous Improvement • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives:, • 7 Wastes reduction, • Cycle time reduction, • Labor optimization, • Line balancing, • Ergonomic improvements, • Scrap reduction, • Perform root cause analysis using:, • 5 Why, • Fishbone, • Pareto, • FMEA, • DOE (if needed) Quality & Compliance • Ensure manufacturing processes meet:, • Customer quality requirements (AWS / hyperscaler / enterprise customers), • IPC workmanship standards, • ESD compliance (ANSI/ESD S20.20), • Safety requirements, • Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), • Participate in audits and process compliance reviews Equipment & Tooling • Define tooling and fixture requirements:, • Torque tools, • ESD fixtures, • Burn-in racks, • Server lifting aids, • Test fixtures, • Label printing systems, • Barcode scanners, • Support equipment qualification and validation, • Work with vendors on tooling improvement Capacity Planning • Develop capacity models for:, • Assembly, • Testing, • Rack integration, • Packaging, • Calculate:, • Takt time, • UPH, • Throughput, • Efficiency, • Labor loading, • OEE, • Support factory expansion planning Cross Functional Collaboration Work closely with: • Manufacturing Engineering, • Test Engineering, • Quality Engineering, • Industrial Engineering, • Supply Chain, • NPI Program Management, • Facilities, • Production Supervisors, • Maintenance, • Product Design Teams Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, • 3–7+ years of manufacturing engineering/process engineering experience, • Experience in computer server, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing, • Knowledge of server manufacturing processes and hardware architecture, • Familiarity with:, • Intel/AMD server platforms, • Rack integration, • BIOS/Firmware workflows, • Server test processes, • Manufacturing execution systems (MES), • SAP ERP Preferred Skills • Lean Six Sigma certification, • Experience with hyperscaler products (AWS, Meta, Google, Microsoft, ByteDance), • Experience with liquid cooling server manufacturing, • Automation implementation experience, • Process simulation / layout design tools, • SQL / data analytics / Excel modeling, • Knowledge of ESD controls and IPC standards Key KPIs • UPH achievement, • First Pass Yield (FPY), • Defect reduction, • Cycle time reduction, • Labor productivity, • Capacity attainment, • Test escape reduction, • NPI readiness, • On-time process release, • Safety complianceCompany DescriptionWe are committed to delivering exceptional services and professionals with proven work ethics and processes.
